Does anyone have any recommendations for HIGH QUALITY CAT5E RJ45 crimp connectors. I'm looking for quality...not cheap.

@ipcamal - technically, no. Those are for Cat 6 which has a different staggered off set in the connector. Will they work, sure, are they "designed" for Cat 5, no. The same manufacture makes Cat 5e ones though.

also just be aware you will need to spend extra $$$ on getting Platinums termination tool/crimp tool because these take a specific tool that will cut the cables coming out the end as it crimps the connector.

I just starting using these Monoprice Cat6 Plug Solid W/Inserts

So far, the inserts work well and allow you to pre-verify before crimping. I went through 10 of these cussing at my decision to buy them because my tester showed no connection. Then I discovered that my tester battery was bad :(

I have been using the platinum connectors and crimping tools for the last two years for my home needs. I found that my ability to make a traditionally crimped connector was lacking. With the Platinum tool and connectors I seldom have a bad connector. The pass through feature of the connector and the wire makes it very easy to check that I have the wires in the correct order.

Cat 6

Cat 5e

Comes in a plastic jar. I buy them by the case. They are a little more expensive, most good things are.

Hot topic to me is crimps. Forget the hundred dollar Idea sets. This is the best on the market.

I bought some pass thru RJ45 connectors ~6 months ago from Amazon cuz I liked this idea and used my crimper (that works great on other connectors) on them but you cannot get the ends cut clean enough manually to allow them to be inserted. This convinced me to spring for the $71 Platinum crimper. (That's a half-a-Camera) Fingers crossed.

Don't use pass through connectors, frankly they suck... LOL... Use two part connectors with a nice pair of scissors. Send those crimps back they are junk, IMHO...

My problem with them is sometimes they don't crimp the jacket well enough and after time they slowly start showing errors, packet loss and such... :)

I love the crimps. Don't believe in one piece connectors, over time they seem to cause problems with vibration and pulling them in and out... Doesn't take any longer to use two piece.

Cat5e - usually a one piece connector
Cat6 - two piece connector, has a loading bar.
Cat6A - three piece connector, has two loading bars (the good ones have three pieces).
The Cat6A connectors are relatively new to the market.
The connectors are as just as important as the cable you crimp them on.
