Ok, 13 total cams, one of them has stopped recording audio. The rest are recording audio just fine.
The one cam:
Audio is fine in live view, in the console, UI3, android app.
When playing back a clip, no audio in the console, UI3 or android app.
Exporting the clip to MPG4, no audio.

I find that this started 6 days ago by reviewing clips from this camera back to that point.

I have been running the latest stable release 5.5.3.7 since it was released so that's like 30days ago or so.

I've deleted the cam from BI, and added back from scratch. No change.

I have double checked settings for that camera in BI against other cameras that are still recording audio.

I've rebooted the computer, I've rebooted the camera. I've power cycled the camera.
Next step is to un-install and re-install BI and set it up from scratch....boo on that option at this time.
No, I have yet to contact support, thought I'd try the brain trust here first.

What am I missing?
Thanks!

I had a similar issue a while back. No audio on one camera, and I couldn't figure out why. Checked everything, compared to another camera of the same model. Nuthin. I think I deleted it and re-added, nothing. After futzing with it for a day or two, it started working again. I never figured out what I did different, if anything. :idk:

Mine was fixed by disabling HA on the problem camera.

I think @IReallyLikePizza2 has struggled with this as well.

Sounds like it could be similar. If I restart the service enough times I can get it back, but then it just gets lost again. At this point I've given up with audio until I can perhaps do a clean install of the whole system

I'll be interested to see if any new ideas come up

EDIT: Nope not similar, I lose audio in the live view too

I know you said you've compared all the likely places with cams that ARE recording the audio but....

Under "camera settings" => "audio", for the cam that's not recording audio, insure that no other cam is selected for "another camera"

On same page, insure "record audio during profiles" is ticked and the correct (all?) Profile(s) are not greyed out.

Also, in BI's Help in the "Audio Settings" for cameras it states "...By default audio is always recorded and always streamed to web and phone clients. For
privacy, legal, or other concerns, you may select to disable this during specific active profiles."

So examine those "active profiles" closely.

That's all I got! :idk:

Have you tried using VLC to see if there's audio there? Is there audio in BI recordings?
Yes to VLC, No audio in recordings, only when viewing live.

Do you have another of that particular cam where you could put it's IP into the working cam's Network configuration in BI and see if it works then?
Tried that couple of different times, no joy

Yep, checked all that, all good.

Read the BI help files.
:headbang: Trust me I have, good one @bradner :)
now for helpful suggestion
have you tried using a new IP for that camera and adding it back as a new camera?
Yes sir, no go.

one more thing
make and model of Camera, I am having a lot of issues with my Hikvision cameras lately. like three of them bricked
IPC-HDW5442TM-AS

I have deleted the cam from Bi now three times and added back from scratch. One out of the 3-4 times, I again had audio, but dummy me, I named it Test, and I didn't want that name permanently. Deleted the cam to change the name to something more useful, and back to no audio.

I've dug through the registry while the cam was deleted, and looked for any mention of that camera to to make sure all was removed, but didn't find any mention.

Ok, so there is at least 3 of us that have problems with no audio, so I suggest we all send BI support a note about the problem, and mention that you know of others with the issue.

Thanks for the replies!

Now THIS matches the issues I'm having. I'm glad there is someone else with a similar issue

You got a GPU in there looney? I noticed my issues right around the time I threw a GPU in there, of course it was also the same week as getting the new cams...

Nope, I don't.

I just upgraded to the latest stable release, and lost a second cams audio. I reverted back to the last stable release, and the 2nd cams audio came back.
So I'm back to 5.5.3.7 , and one cam with no audio.
