Hi,

So i been wanting to try BI4 but BI3 was so stable that i decided to wait a little to let Win10 bugs work out, and i also wanted to upgrade the storage on the Bi server to 6tb WD Purple for keeping two cameras in constant recording, so decided this was the weekend to do it, but an issue that has appear and its not a common one, or one that i know how to fix, maybe some people here have seen it or know how to fix it.

BI4 works great, but once i access the BI server via Windows Remote Desktop, i get 5 sec skips every 10 sec on the BI live display, the recording works fine, i don't have this skips as as i see it in live, and the most weird thing, this skips on the live feed i don't get them using TeamViewer10 or if i plug the monitor/keyboard/mouse to the PC and use it, meaning its an issue of BI4 + Remote Desktop (but only in the live feed). Btw im in local gigbit wired lan, and connecting via remote desktop i have no issues with BI recording playback (no stuttering nor skipping), i have no issues also viewing youtube nor even watching a high bit rate MKV via remote desktop, so the lan connection is fine.

I'm really lost into what i could try, not sure if this would happen with windows 7 also, if it doesn't i would probably get a serial for win7 pro, but i come to you guys to see if anyone had this issue and if you know what should i do?

@fenderman, thanks for your reply.

Im not to sure what you mean, but i entered from my personal PC to the BI dedicated Server via windows remote desktop and this what i think you wanted,

If this wasnt what you wanted let me know. Btw in the small screen in the GENERAL tab, there is no skipping of seconds, only in the big screen of BI. I have also included the Hikvision camera settings, just in case.

@Abula Click on the main blue iris options icon..the gear second from the left on top left..Select the camera tab and adjust the setting for remote desktop. There is nothing wrong with win 10 or BI, its simply as setting you need to change.

No problem. I think its there for weaker systems and/or slower connections that would lock up if not for that option.

Abula, have you heard of the Blue Iris Viewer? It was made by bp2008, a guy here on this forum: https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php?93-I-made-a-better-remote-live-view-page

I personally prefer that to viewing everything over RDP. I use the JAVA version over LAN and it's solid. When I want to review in greater detail, I run a second install of BI on my main machine that just points to clips from the server's hard drives. I wish BI had a better viewer for this type of thing instead of a second install and license (I think one is in the works), but for $50 I figured it was worth it and I don't mind supporting the developer w/ an extra sale.

Thanks for the link, didnt know about it. The main reason i wanted remote desktop its not to monitor that much, more to manage, it also does other things this headless server, and with my main PC having 4k monitor remote desktop plays really nice having multiple things open, either way i do want something lighter and easier to manage to monitor so ill give a shot.
