Okay so my new Hikvision DS-2CD2032F-IW came in the mail today and I was excited to set it up. Turns out there is no WiFi option in the web interface. The sticker on the camera says IW version and firmware 5.3.0 but the web interface says I version and firmware 5.2.5.

Could it be that I need to upgrade the firmware version to get the wifi option?

Thanks in advance.

I would go back to the seller, they shipped you a wrong product. There is no way to get wifi via firmware if it doesn't have the module built-in.

But the sticker on the camera and box says IW. So either it is a scam or WiFi is not in the firmware version.

The firmware for the WIFI and Non WIFI cameras is the same. The wireless settings are present if the wireless module is present and presumably working correctly. As klasipca said, I would go back to the seller and get a replacement. unless youre dead set on using this camera wirelessly I would reccomend against getting a wireless camera. I have several wireless cameras which are wired and I have had trouble disabling the wireless on them for security's sake.

It's possible it's a clone too. Actually i didn't know official bullets had -W as an option.

open the camera and see whether there's a wi-fi module there. if so, the firmware is corrupted. either way you need to send it back, you can't fix it.

Ok, got the replacement. But now its firmware 5.3.0 and I cannot login. Default password wont work and it doesn’t prompt me to create a password. Also SADP does not show the Activate camera option.

I have a similar problem. Finally tracked down the 12345 password issue and got it connected to the LAN. Can't get the wireless to work. Set it for DHCP and pulled the LAN plug. It never tries to draw an IP as far as I can see. I can't find a screen where it lists the SSID of the router and asks for a password. It is the W version.

Anything I'm missing?
