same firmware here (since the beginning)
on my isp router logs is see this :
outbound Traffic Blocked - Packet invalid in connection tcp reset attack is suspected: TCP ***my ip***:58182->74.125.136.108:465 on ppp0 [repeated 2 times, last time on Feb 11 21:18:22 2016]

ps :smtp.gmail.com =74.125.68.108

email test on my cams directly work perfectly

Hi,

I have the same problem with my DS-7608N-E2 / 8P. Was driving me crazy. Then I discovered this thread. Im on V3.3.2 build 150522. Looking to move to 3.3.4

How do I determine whether its a NI or otherwise NVR. I recall it being through the serial number, but cant remember now....Thanks in advance.

Edit: so, I have an N model, and AARR in the serial number. Hacked Chinese firmware.

Edit 2: So having read this thread again, now I know some more details, it appears that I need to go back to 3.0.10 first. is that correct, and do I need to use the TFTP thing? is that correct? Mine is the N version with hacked English firmware (AARR).

I had the same email problems like everyone else in this thread with the 3.4.0 firmware version. I just found out that there is a newer version (3.4.1) on the European hikvision site.
Upgraded, and i get mail notifications with photos attached as well

I was under the impression that 3.4.1 was buggy, and best firmware was 3.3.4

Most of the threads here have to do with the Firmware-v3.4.0 build 150929 and the mail configuration not working.
I installed a newer version I described above, and it solved the mail issues!

3.4.2 is out, doubt it fixes anything, but worth a try:

you must turn in google: less secure apps, it will not work the send email: https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps

my DVR with current firmware V3.4.2 build160226 Multi-lingual did not work, I loaded firmware V3.4.1 BUILD151225 MULTI-LINGUAL, I reset NVR and I reset everything in email as in my picture and it works

I had to set the SMTP server to the actual IP address to get this working finally, apparently DNS and DHCP are still buggy for some reason on the DS-7604NI-E1 with V3.3.6 Build 151229

Also the less secure apps setting is disabled in the gmail account.

I do not understand, why did you put ip address instead of google smtp?

He's saying the NVR was unable to resolve Google's SMTP address, so inserting the IP literal negates the need for DNS resolution. The IP he entered still is Google's SMTP.

I can confirm that 3.4.2 does NOT work, even with less secure apps and using the google smtp IP address (as opposed to smtp.google.com).

I have to eat my words. I actually got line detection emails to work. Not sure what I did, but I now have attached photos (3) when I cross the line. (Previously, I was getting emails, but no photos)

I did also activate "audible alarm", so that may have something to do with it. I'm using the google smtp IP address (as described by Snellmedic a few posts up). I've allowed less secure apps for that particular gmail account.

Stoked!

3.4.2 now works correctly with emails and photos.

3.4.2 build 160226 works fine with email and attachments using gmail. No need to use IP address for gmail smtp server just use smtp.gmail.com port 465 and enable SSL. Also make sure you have allowed "less secure apps" within you google account settings. Previous firmware version 3.4.0 and 3.4.1 didn't work for me.

3.4.2 emails wont work for me, I've tried everything in these posts but only get the "failed to send test email, please check the parameters or network status" , how hard can it be for something so simple?
