Hi guys

I have a DS-7608N-E2 / 8P NVR that I purchased online from China.

I am in Australia.

Looking on their website for firmware is very confusing.

Would anyone be able to let me know the correct firmware for this NVR.

Thanks very much.

You'll know from the forum that there are many traps and pitfalls associated with firmware updates ...

Depending on the region of your NVR, here are some possible sources:
http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/porta...9%207700NI-E4/

Software Description:
Support Models:
DS-7600NI-E1, DS-7600NI-E2, DS-7600NI-E1/N(P), DS-7600NI-E2/N(P), DS-7700NI-E4, DS-7700NI-E4/N(P),DS-8608/16/32NI-E8

3rd one down here: http://overseas.hikvision.com/en/download_89.html

4th one down here: http://www1.hikvision.com/cn/download_more_699.html

Good luck!

What's wrong with the version you have running?

I've updated my one but it was a little bit of a fiddle. If you aren't already comfortable with using TFTP or having a few days down time (should something go wrong) then don't do it.

I too have a DS-7608N-E2 / 8P NVR that I purchased online from China.

I too am in Australia. I tried asking in another thread, but got no response.

I'm having difficulty getting motion detection emailed, so I updated the firmware, by changing the language code to 2. But it didnt work. (Beeping and not booting as described above).

I've got it back to Chinese language, but which version is the best for English. I've had no luck so far with all the downloading and changing language to "2".

What version of firmware did you manage to install, to get it working, with CH menus?
If your NVR has 'AARR' in the serial number, there is a good chance a multi-language version firmware from here will work OK, though you may have to install via tftp : http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/index.php?dir=Product Firmware/Recorder/DS-7600NI-E1(E2) 7700NI-E4/
You may have to start with an old version, then web GUI update to a new version.
What was the approximate manufacturing date of your NVR? That may help decide what version of bootloader is installed. The new (2016) bootloaders have additional restrictions.

Thanks, I downgrded to 3.0.1, as per instructions in the other thread. Then I upgraded to 3.4.1 (the new one out this week) with the language code changed to 2, but now my NVR doesnt boot. It cant do anythign with the TFTP device, and even connected to a moniter = nothing. No beeping at all when I turn on. Just nothing.

I suspect I may have rebooted the NVR before the flash finished. It said finished on the TFTP screen, but......

Suggestions? what is the unbrick method?

I bought it in Sep 15, so manufactured before then....

I suspect I may have rebooted the NVR before the flash finished. It said finished on the TFTP screen, but......
There are 3 main steps that take several minutes, after the file has been transferred.
Erase flash, write flash, check flash.
Then the reboot.

It cant do anythign with the TFTP device, and even connected to a moniter = nothing. No beeping at all when I turn on. Just nothing.
That does not sound promising. You may have to resort to a connection to the serial console, via the main board connector, for recovery steps.
A suggestion to check for any remaining activity:
With PC and NVR both wired (no WiFi) to your router or switch as normal.
Set the PC IP address to 192.0.0.128
At a command prompt, use 'ping -t 192.0.0.64'
Power cycle the NVR.
Check for ping responses.
2 or 3 after a few seconds, with no repeats is normal, and suggests the bootloader is active and checking for a tftp server.

Strangely, after connecting to my switch (and not directly, or maybe it was taking the battery out, and shorting the two pieces of metal????) I could connect, and again loaded on 3.0.10

But I cant seem to upgrade to the 3.3.4 without constant beeping.

I got the firmware from http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/index.php?dir=Product Firmware/Recorder/DS-7600NI-E1(E2) 7700NI-E4/V3.3.4 build150616 Multi-lingual/&file=NVR_EXX_BL_ML_STD_V3.3.4_150616.zip

Changed to language 2, and uploaded vai tftp. Constant beeping. I have a 7608N /E2

Partially there. Not fully.

Do I need to change the language to 2 on the CN firmware above?

Really appreciate the help. An aussie owes you a beer.

Actually, I just tried, because I realized it was already set to 2 (and it failed via GUI upload)

When I booted into the NVR, its saying it is a DS-7116N-SN

I've bought a DS-7608N.....not sure why it's saying that. Have I loaded on the incorrect 3.0.10 firmware?
