hikvision cameras need 48 volt poe, so that won't work (it only does 12v or 24v).

for cheap ive had good luck with this place: http://wifi-texas.com/

you can also pick up some cheap used gear on ebay, some of the old netgear poe switchs or procure poe switches, although probably not as cheap as your looking for.

I second these. I have two of their injectors running flawlessly for over a year.

I'm in the uk, and I paid £37 for the tplink delivered from amazon. Where in Europe are you ?

How many cameras do you need to power over Poe ?

I'm in Greece and the total cost for TP-Link is $42.95 + $35.91 = $78

Now, I want 3 cameras to power via PoE.

Thank you.

It's definitely less cable mess using a POE switch rather than switch + injector. In my case I have a spare switch, so I opted to get an injector. Unmanaged switches should be inexpensive brand new and probably easy to find good used ones.

A curiosity: a 4port POE can be installed vertically or it must be positioned horizontally?
I mean, can vertically heat itself too much?

You can install them vertically. That's why some have key holes on the bottom so you can wall mount.

I would avoid mounting it with the data ports facing up unless you have a dust cover. Just flip it so the ports face the floor.

If you are trying to power a camera with POE it needs 48 volts. You need to find an injector that is 802.3af compliant.
