Look forward to these tests as I'm seriously considering trying a 4mp cam or 2
Yes I've got drawers full of those cables.
The pro curve uses java gui I believe.
So hopefully should be fairly straightforward.
My use case...
I've never dabbled with them before either but I can't see it that difficult to be honest
I'm giving it a whirl purely on cost saving alone....
Just a quick update.
I've only received the pro curve switch up to now.
The seller sent me the wrong item instead of the jet stream and diesnt...
Now this looks interesting I will be rqfg8ng along as I'm in the market again for another camera, and debating whdfhrf to try a 4mp variant
I'd disagree at the moment.
The lack of smart IR for a start makes it an inferior product.
There seems to be issues with too much ghosting....
The point is though at the moment these are not working great.
I think the ideal here is to have at least equal or better night time quality and...
The day/night schedule is still broken in the new firmware because it greys out the colour/B&W and auto drop-down.
Not a problem to most but for...
I think reading between the lines here eith these newer 4mp starlight+ models is it may take a firmware upgrade or 2 to get them in the sweet zone.
Thanks pal that's good to know.
Actually need 2 3.5 hdds so might have to pass it up

Yes I had seen this in the cliff notes seems silly to pay so much for a system that is "old" in tech terms
Just seen this listed
That's what I've been looking at.
As I say I'm in no rush and just hoping to steal a bargain at some point.
Over here there seems to be a lot of...
I'm with @fenderman on this.
I initially went nvr as I only had the intention at the time of running hikvision cameras and was also cost thinking...
Working ok for me a bit sporadic but seem to be working ok using Yahoo
I think @fenderman is spot on with his analysis of things,
He usually is and hes a respected member and well worth taking his advice and...
Just had a quick look and the only options to encode are
H264 h264H and h265 [ATTACH]
From viewing the camera when I have chance yes that's when I actually notice it.
It may or may not happen without ivs rules when the camera is...
I think the only encoding available within the camera is h264 and h265
I don't believe mpeg is an option
I've tried deleting the rule and re adding it, that doesnt work.
I don't think its nvr related at all as it's doing it through live view in the...
Had the above ptz for a while now and I love the camera although recently I've been having some issues with it.
I'm not sure if it's actually...
I certainly will.
You wont go far wrong with Andy.
Good guy and great service
I've picked up 2 yes 2 (won 2 auctions doh)
For 2 enterprise level managed switches.
The 2 models are
HP procurve 2620-24-poe+
If I were to buy more cameras right now I think other than 1 specific location which is very unique I would stick to the 5231.
Youll not be disappointed with the dahua starlights.
I've not physically used the camera you linked to but generally they are all similar in...
Didn't even spot that when I looked I just clicked the link!
Yes you will need ip version
The camera won't be any better. In fact I actually think dahua starlights are just ahead of the Hikvision darkfighter models (in the similar price...
Both good cameras,
Depends what system you already have
If you have a dahua NVR go dahua
Hikvision NVR go hik.
I've no first hand...
