Guess the camera format? IP or Analogue

I'd guess it's analogue, despite it being 8MP, as the codec ID is "isom (isom/iso2/avc1/mp41)"

Initial review of the Hikvision DS-2CD2087G2-L(U) ColorVu 4K 8MP IP bullet camera.

Not via the web GUI it seems. I tried via the bootloader/recovery facility on the DS-2CD2347G2-LU but that route isn't available on that camera as the rcvy part has been tweaked and is currently persona non grata. By all means do so - if I can load it, I should be able to check the same...

Initial review of the Hikvision DS-2CD2087G2-L(U) ColorVu 4K 8MP IP bullet camera.

Interesting - so not quite the same firmware and camera model where I see the frame rate stuck at 30fps. This one is using V5.5.160 build 210209 I just downloaded IPC_G3_EN_STD_5.5.160_210108 off the DS-2CD2347G2-LU product page. Yet another variant of the V5.5.160 firmware ...

Initial review of the Hikvision DS-2CD2087G2-L(U) ColorVu 4K 8MP IP bullet camera.

What firmware and camera is this? The IPC_G3_EN_STD_5.5.160_210209 using the DS-2CD2347G2-LU camera limits the max bitrate setting to 8192 or less on this camera. But it allows up to 16,384 on the DS-2CD2087G2-LU - and this is also stuck at 30fps under the same firmware. I assessed the fps...

Initial review of the Hikvision DS-2CD2087G2-L(U) ColorVu 4K 8MP IP bullet camera.

Triggered by Dave's comments about the Video settings in the G3 firmware, I thought I'd take a look at those on the IPC_G3_EN_STD_5.5.160_210209 using the DS-2CD2347G2-LU camera. It's a bit bugged, fps is stuck at 30 on h.265, but other settings seem to work OK. Here is how it looked to me ...

Initial review of the DS-2CD2347G2-L(U) ColorVu 2.0 IP camera.

Yes, I had seen this as well, and puzzled over what the 'C' might mean. I'm speculating that there could be internal hardware differences, judging by the significant differences listed against the product variants. Maybe I should try the G5 firmware on the 'G2' camera and see if it takes it...

Initial review of the DS-2CD2347G2-L(U) ColorVu 2.0 IP camera.

It does seem like the G3 firmware is a bit of a work in progress. Inspecting and testing the bugs and flaws out as opposed to not designing them in during development.

Removed from the portals, maybe considered a bit too bugged, but still available via the product page : https://www.hikvision.com/en/products/IP-Products/Network-Cameras/colorvu-series/ds-2cd2087g2-l-u-/

Cant get Hik-Connect "Online" through company firewall.

This is intended to be constructive criticism. By creating this crude and insecure ability for the entire internet to access a potentially vulnerable device that's not been designed or certified to be cyber secure, you may well be opening up your company's data and assets to significant risk...

Legit hikvision nvr to suit Australian region?

I'd say that looks OK, it's not a China region model. It's very easy to do a basic test - just hook up either the HDMI or VGA output to a TV or monitor and power it up. The display will show if it boots up OK.

    Hikvision ColorVu + 4K (DS-2CD2087G2-L)

With the caveat that I'm not a BI user --- that's bytes per second, as opposed to bits per second in the camera bitrate settings.

That's not much cheaper than the new price, over here. But I can see that these are a bit more expensive down under.

Need help buying nvr off ebay

If the model number on the label under the NVR itself is the same as on the box label, I'd say it's OK. What's important is that it's 'NI' (English, International) as opposed to 'N' (Chinese) Would it be rude to ask how much? That can give an indication of whether it's the real thing.

Need help buying nvr off ebay

the model number looks OK, 'International'. Is it being sold as 'untested' or 'used' or 'for parts or not working' with returns possible?

Conflict with two Cameras connected to Hikvison NVR POE ports.

Here is another suggestion - If UPnP is enabled on either or both the NVR and camera - disable it.

Conflict with two Cameras connected to Hikvison NVR POE ports.

My experience of the NVR4.x firmware is that the early versions are a bit of a work in progress and have been through quite a few revisions. Even the later versions were a bit quirky when seen from the inside. Do you mean NVR_K51_BL_ML_STD_V4.40.017_201124 ? That's quite new, but not quite the...

New Dahua cams are not HiSilicon based, watch out!

That would be a backward step. So no ECC in the flash chip?

New camera can't reassign new IP address Password error

You need to temporarily change the PC IP address to be in the same range as the camera so that you can access the camera web GUI and change the network configuration to match your network address range. For example, set the PC to 192.168.1.200 and point the browser at 192.168.1.108

Need help to set up motion detection

Well that's a surprise! I have not seen a Hikvision camera where enabling motion detection disables smart events. All the cameras I've seen, and there have been lots, have motion detection and intrusion detection and other smart events independent of each other. But you got there, that's good.

Need help to set up motion detection

Oh dear, that's not good. Well, at least it rules out the possibility that the configuration database was the origin of the problem. What would be easy enough to do now is to use the web GUI to re-apply the same version of firmware as is already installed. Beyond that, I don't have much of an...

Need help to set up motion detection

This model does not have PoE ports - is that the correct model number? I'm assuming therefore that the cameras are on a PoE switch on the LAN, as opposed to on NVR PoE ports. And I forgot to add - make sure that you know the camera passwords and IP addresses, as these will be erased from the...

Need help to set up motion detection

That looks normal - the camera is OK. These images were helpful. They clearly confirm there is a problem with the NVR configuration, and as you say, it's independent of the browser. Although the choice of browser can also hide or change some features. My understanding is that this problem...

Need help to set up motion detection

Need help to set up motion detection

OK, so this problem has occurred following a firmware update. NVR firmware upgrade? Please provide a link to the firmware that you downloaded. Did you manage to connect to the camera web GUI and confirm that the events and smart events are as you expect them to be? Suggestion : What browser...
