Getting BI and HomeSeer Talking To Each Other

I agree with you. We use Alexa mainly for simple lighting control commands and I am not going to pay $40 a year to be able to do that. It is something about having to use MyHS servers - if you want to dig through that threat I posted you will probably find your answer. I have been buying more...

Need recommendation: How to call a disabled person

Hi THanks I am NOT FAMILIAR with these devices... So can you share how you could call an Amazon Echo Show and it will auto answer and the caller and disabled person can see and talk to each other? If the remote Echo Show crashes, can it auto recover and resume waiting for a call? Thanks

Need recommendation: How to call a disabled person

I would definitely go with an Amazon device like an echo show, Amazon tablet, etc. Super easy to use and you can get the Alexa app on your phone which will allow you to always be in contact. We use this and it works great and crazy easy!

New member looking to replace UniFi Protect with fully local setup

Thanks. I'm testing the RLC-811A indoors now, and I've got that working within Home Assistant. Their app works great, I'll give them that. But I can see the 1/2.8" sensor is quite small for a 4K resolution. The night view doesn't seem to great, even indoors, regardless of the 4 beefy IR LED's on...

New member looking to replace UniFi Protect with fully local setup

I will say that generally speaking, the only CCTV cameras that integrate directly with automation devices like Alexa and Google Home are the crappy "residential" grade cameras that aren't worth having. That being said, if you use something like BlueIris for your NVR, you can usually integrate...

    "Best" Video Doorbell Cams

The way I look at it is those wireless ones are better than nothing and it's easy for the novice to have better than nothing so I can understand the popularity of them. And most reviews similar to this one seem to be money driven click for referral income type reviews. So I'm skeptical.
