    "Affordable" PTZ Starlight Cam?

@Dramus - you are so upgrading LOL. Night and Day difference in most situations between the 5231 and 5442!

    5442 picture quality issue

I guess try the ole reboot and if that doesn't do it, then a factory reset. Sometimes they get wonky and a reboot or reset do the trick.

Threshold and sensitivity for motion detection on the 5442

Absolutely - most of mine are at 12 FPS. I love when folks come here (or even my neighbors) wanting 30 or 60 FPS. Movies on the big screen are shot at 24 FPS, so I don't think we need 30 or 60 FPS for our tablets, phones, and computer screens LOL. 12-15 FPS is sufficient for surveillance...

    5442 picture quality issue

If it is external, that would be from the camera. I forget, do you have an SD card in there that you can playback with the IVS rules on from the camera GUI and see if you can find what is triggering it.

    "Affordable" PTZ Starlight Cam?

Starlight is a marketing term... Anything from EmpireTech or Loryta (same company) are Dahua OEM without the logo (although some do come with a log) and are sold by @EMPIRETECANDY here with excellent customer service. You can purchase from Amazon, AliExpress, or DM Andy directly.

Threshold and sensitivity for motion detection on the 5442

Can't speak to your Synology system, but a couple of screenshots showing your field of view and IVS lines are usually helpful. Biggest mistake people make are drawing IVS lines right up against the edge of the frame - the camera needs time to identify the object and determine if vehicle or...

What about adding some additional landscaping lighting - this cam is awesome and with minimal light will do great.

    Dahua IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV quality issues

Down at the bottom of the bitrate should be customized and then you can change it to a larger number (although for some reason the spec sheet doesn't show it allowing higher - maybe because the CPU can't handle it?) Check if the cable is actually pure copper or CCA. Do you have anything else...

OpenALPR and white screen at night?

So to close this up, it was indeed the cleanup of my cables and when I reconnected my cameras to the switches, I had one too many cams with IR on at night on one of the switches. Another story we have to tell when someone is experiencing an issue with a camera that we can point to regarding...

How critical is Lux/Low light ability for night capture?

If you use the sunrise/sunset utility a member here created, you will not need the reflectors for the Z12! Or you set up the schedule in the Z12 to go into night 45-60min before sunset. And holy $#!+ BATMAN - send a LPR cam viewing from the backyard in between two houses! Now that is helping...

Camera placement for side yard of house? (picture inside)

Yeah, that would work there, but that tree on the side will block most of the view looking towards the front. You can paint it to match the siding.

    Trial Version Software

Nah, cause then you would have been like this guy lol: "I have been playing with the Blue Iris application and have found it to be much easier to use than the Dahua NVR GUI. Also, I am now able to record the video from a couple of Wyze cameras configured with RTSP firmware. Too bad I bought the...

Can I replace my lorex nvr with a dahua nvr? (and still use my lorex cameras)

The 80 Mbps is the bandwidth for all the cameras. So depending on which NVR you have, regardless of what bitrate you set, the NVR probably maxes out at 4192. It did for my neighbor. He wanted to run 20,000 bitrate and 60FPS and the NVR would't let him. Now both of those are overkill, but he...

Can I replace my lorex nvr with a dahua nvr? (and still use my lorex cameras)

Yes you can. They have been making the Lorex units for years. But keep in mind the software may look very similar... Since you are not fond of the NVR software....Consider a Blue Iris/computer combo as an NVR. Keep in mind an NVR is a stripped down computer after all....and isn't true...

    Hikvision Pricing

Nothing to do with being banned. There is a huge chip shortage and across the board, anything with computer chips are going to skyrocket. Amcrest will as well as they get new inventory. https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/price-increase-for-dahua-hikvision-all-products.55125/

    IPC49225XA No SD card

I have two of the same camera and one has an issue on the switch and the other one doesn't. Like anything, there are tolerances of what they accept and I think they are so tight within the spec that some will work fine and some won't if the electric is right on the cusp of what the tolerance...

    Paranoid much?

I doubt at 40 feet he is hearing it. Especially with an occasional car going by and insect noises and chirps and what not and it is in a somewhat open area so there isn't a lot of deflection of sound I would think. The 49225 is fairly silent and someone would not hear it at 40 feet...

    Question

Yeah, so that is telling me that it is processing the Deepstack first and by the time that process happens, the vehicle is out of the picture. I have tuned mine to only people on my property so it isn't sending vehicles in the street to DeepStack. So maybe try to further refine which cameras...

    IPC49225XA No SD card

How is it being powered? POE+ switch or POE+ injector? I recently had an issue with another camera where it wasn't seeing an SD card, so I took it off the switch and put it on an injector and I could then see the SD card. I have found many of these cameras to be extremely touchy on the...

    Dahua IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV quality issues

Try H264 and match FPS to iframe rate. Try 15FPS and 15 iframe rate and if that doesn't solve the pulsating, then go for 20,000 bitrate just to see and then back down to the lowest number that doesn't result in the pulsating.

IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV loses connection/reboots during the day

Keep in mind that these type of cameras, although are spec'd and capable of these various parameters, real world testing shows if you try to run these cameras at all of their rated specs like 30fps and high bitrates that you will max out the CPU in the camera and then the camera bugs out just...

    Dahua IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV quality issues

Looks like too low of a bit rate and the iframes may not be matching the FPS. Try 8192 bitrate and CBR and not VBR. Try 15FPS and 15 iframes and see if that fixes it.

    Paranoid much?

@wtimothyholman - The 49225 is a great autotracking camera. I suspect equal to your other one. I think they use they same autotracking algorithm so once dialed in to your field of view and light, it should absolutely rock. The bigger question is do you get it now or wait. I hear the 49225 is...

    Question

What computer do you have and what is the CPU load? What I think is happening is the Deepstack AI is spiking your CPU just enough that the timing is now off on your alert pics sent to Plate Recognizer or the ordering sequence of BI is causing it. When I was first trying Plate Recognizer, I...

OpenALPR and white screen at night?

Yep, I use the utility as well so I am never in the Rektor Dashboard. But I noticed a few pics that was white and just assumed it was an anomaly. Oh, I did do a cleanup recently of my cables, so maybe I have overloaded one of my switches with all IR cameras. Will have to check that out...
