    Zerotier/Tailscale; Viable Options?

...I have determined that the ISP currently does not offer IPv6. All of the reading I have done on this site points to using ZeroTier or Tailscale. I do understand that Tailscale is built upon Wireguard, but I like the fact that ZeroTier has a zero-trust approach which allows me to manage any...

    Requesting advice on new installation

Welcome @folk Looks like you've done some good research already .. my quick take on this .. as you are in Norway, low light performance matters. Thus I would try the 8MP 1/1.2" or 4MP 1/1.8" sensor models .. and also, many of us do not like dome cameras outdoors due to UV / heat exposure. As...

TeamViewer, ZeroTier and TailScale - Remote Connection To BI Server

+1 Tailscale I actually run Tailscale on my pfSense firewall. You can even configure an Apple TV 4K (tvOS 17+) as a Tailscale exit node and sub-net router.

...that would be another consideration you will need to make. I would recommend that you only have one device handling routing unless you just like to tinker around with network routing. Have you taken a look at overlay network solutions like Zerotier, Tailscale, or Netbird for remote access?

can`t view hikvision cam`s and dvr outside the network

IIRC, Starlink employs CGNAT so no public-facing IP is available, at least not with IPv4. Being that you're wanting to access a NVR, I'm thinking you could install Tailscale or ZeroTier on a compatible GL.iNET router and access it remotely that way.

    Zerotier help needed

I do not keep the ZT app on all the time. I only toggle it on when I want to use the BI app on my phone. I have found that having the ZT app running 24/7 does drain the battery quite a bit. We have another long trip coming up soon, so I think I am going to setup Tailscale to try it out.

You may also try Tailscale. I use both but find it flawless. I have one account that I monitor where Zerotier frequently fails to connect where Tailscale never fails. TeamViewer, ZeroTier and TailScale - Remote Connection To BI Server
