    Losing Weight

^^^ Yeah, it is a dry heat! At some point it is just plain hot. I spend most of my time in Central Florida so I can relate to oppressive humidity and dry heat. Think I prefer dry heat but 105 is a bit much.

Janet Napolitano not Albright. Sorry for misinformation.

    Funny / Satire

Yes, I have seen the movie. There is a lot of that going on. It started years ago. Madelein Albright (I believe) said that the "biggest threat to our cause are veterans." They want to disarm our country and will whittle away at niche groups. First "potheads" then veterans with PTSD then all...

    Funny / Satire

Maybe, this should be in the second amendment thread. Years ago, a friend an I argued about this specifically. He is for legalization and I was for a more cautious approach. One of my concerns was exactly this. Who could be for a drug addict owning a gun? A politician will act like he is doing...

    Internet Explorer

Just tired this and it worked. In edge, I turned on an option to allow pages to open in ie mode. I added the http://IP address of an amcrest camera under always allow. It needed the http:// prefix. It then asked to load the plugin. I did and it worked. If the ie option is not turned on, it wants...

    Internet Explorer

I use an old Win7 laptop that will not update. I tried when Win10 was available free and updates fail. It is too old for Win11 hardware requirements. When it was updating, it would always re-write the MBR. I have Linux installed and that would keep me from accessing it until I manually re-wrote...

Need a reversing or backup cam (pref wireless) for my van

I haven't tried any but have seen them advertised on RV sites. Not in the market so didn't pay much attention. Seems if they will work from rear of a long travel trailer, they would do great in a van.

    Refubished List

I snagged an SD59432XA-HNR from Andy and installed it. The pictures are of a west Texas sunset. The color and b/w are a minute apart. Kind of surreal, drinking a margarita and watching the sunset in person and on the tablet at the same time.

Transfer configuration from one camera to another

So I exported the configuration on an IP2M-841 and the SDA49425-HNR. Both files are plain text files. Neither one exports position preset information, for example, front gate, rear gate, mailbox are presets 1-3. Also noticed that preset names do not show up in a browser window. Only in the...

Transfer configuration from one camera to another

If it is that easy, I'm going to slap myself. I've been looking at my cameras with the app and smartdmss. If it is in there, I'm completely overlooking it. I'll log in with explorer and poke around. Thanks for the pointer.

Transfer configuration from one camera to another

I just got a SD59432XA-HNR from Andy's refurb deals. It will be replacing a SDA49425-HNR. The new camera will hang on the same bracket. I would like to have the same presets, tours and settings on the new camera. In lieu of setting them up manually, can they be exported from the old to the new?

I got mine yesterday. Maybe install today. :headbang:

    Funny / Satire

My neighbor in Texas has 400 acres outside San Antonio. His reply is $80/square ft. which amounts to 1.4 Billion for the 400 acres. He said they hang up quickly after that!

That is one advantage of working night shift! First dibs when Andy posts a new list. My SD59432XA-HNR shipped today!

Now doesn't that bite. Maybe they can use the extra coin to speed up shipping times on accessories.

Thomas Sowell Wisdom: Were the NAZIS Right Wing?

I drive a lot and so the increased fuel prices have hit me hard. I put $145 of diesel in my pickup and then $100 in my wife's Mercedes. We have watched the left demonize the right and compare them to every vile leftist seen in this video. As far as fuel prices, Buttigieg (among many others)...

    Barrier Gate Guidance

@jrecasens I do not have experience with that camera but the spec sheet says that it has alarm inputs and outputs. I use Mighty Mule for my gate opener and it has auxiliary inputs. Your output could be wired via any two wire conductor. At <1amp, I think that even cat 5 would work. You said that...

    Bird Feeder Hide

Did you get the lens close enough to the glass in the feeder to avoid IR reflection or did you have to turn them off?

    Funny / Satire

Balancing on j-boxes is probably OK. No fall protection and being on that no-step step would have many safety professionals concerned.

    Starlink satellite internet

@NightLife My speeds did pick up after that. I am not always local and when I am, I am bogged down with catching up. As mentioned above, I did download a 2GB file in about 2 minutes. Also I think the speed tests were done while the dish was on the ground and not on the roof. Another factor was...

    Starlink satellite internet

I got my Starlink dish installed a few weeks ago. The initial speed test was disappointing since my fixed cellular service through T-mobile was comparable. Afterwards the numbers picked up quite a bit. I was able to download a 2GB Linux .iso from Distrowatchwatch.org in about 2 minutes. My...

    Starlink satellite internet

When I was following Dish Network YEARS ago, they would send satellites into space from Kazakhstan. When one blew up, Charlie Ergen stated that because of the risk and the expense of the payload, there is no insurance available for rocket launches and the loss is all on Dish. I imagine that it...

Happy ending: Attempted heist of neighbor's trailer

I know it is not as good as a trailer lock, but I keep all my tongues low to the ground. On the heavier ones, they have to crank them up before they can hook them. It will not stop them but will make them waste time which could provide more evidence.
