    Migrate to BI from NVR

The N54L doesn't have enough horse power, with the AMD and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 chipset. It worked fine for my first headless Plex server, as long as I didn't need to convert the stream on the fly (i.e. MPEG2 to 4, 1080p to 480p). I quickly moved Plex to an i7 and use the N54L to back...

    Amcrest Doorbell "chime kit"

A doorbell transformer should be around 10VA to 30VA. It's been many years since taking AC/DC theory, but I believe the idea is that electricity/current will flow more thru the least resistance (thus reducing the amount thru the chime solenoid to prevent the solenoid being energized - no...

    Camera Distance

I think you would get better feedback if you include the original cam/model and the new cam name/model ( coax or Ethernet, POE or POE+, NVR info, etc)

    Amcrest Doorbell "chime kit"

It's basically a power resistor. The original doorbell cam didn't come with it, so I just used a 10 Ohm power resistor instead... I had to add it to prevent the doorbell from humming (the solenoid is being energized just enough, causing the "hum") when at rest. check out this video, he is...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Your router is set to DHCP, so each device requests an IP address from the router. On most routers, you can assign a specific IP address based on the MAC address, so that it won't be given out to any other device and when the device boots up and asks for an IP address, it will get the same IP...

    Newbie.

You didn't mention which model cam it is, in any case try testing it out the rtsp and http addresses shown on the ISpy webpage mentioned above. I assume that when doing the setup process, you had to establish a login/password. Also I use the VLC program on my PC to help test for the proper...

Try using a phone app like Fing. It will search your network for all devices that are connected... Also, ISpy has a list of possible RTSP connections for that brand: https://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=floureon

    Hikvision DS-KB6003-WIP Wi-Fi Doorbell chime?

Try using a 10 to 12 Ohm resistor, as shown in this video (he's using a Ring doorbell, but the concept is the same): https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/hikvision-ds-kb6003-wip-wi-fi-doorbell-chime.22630/page-11#post-346873

Smaller CPU tower footprint sought after

My two cents. Not sure where your cabinet is...when you go smaller, fans are smaller and usually more noisy in order to push equivalent amount of air. Going with a SSF, the PSU will usually be smaller in Watts (i.e. 290W vs 250W), but that would be more than enough for one hard drive, if...

    Suggestions for network segment

First, read this wiki To isolate your NVR and cams, check out devices like EdgeRouterX and Netgate SG-1100 (or build your own pfSense device) and use VLANs to separate your PC network from your CAM network. If using Blue Iris, instead of an NVR, you could use two NICs (network cards) in a PC...

    Electrical Chime with Video Doorbell

I have a mechanical chime, however I searched youtube and found a video on how to do this with a Ring doorbell and an electronic chime. You should be able to do the same. Note that he has a 24v transformer, so he got a 24v AC relay. You can see his schematic around 12 minutes into the video.

Yes, I was performing system updates (Win 10) and a new update to v5 message popped up. So I updated BI and noticed that it didn't come on line in BI for about 20-30 mins.
