Thanks. Cellular data is on (globally) and also for the app. I have no issue with VPN connection (over WIFI or cellular). When connected through VPN over cellular, I can get to the BI web interface. But the mobile app will not connect unless on WIFI.
I had no issues with this until I...
When v4 was installed, I could access my BI server from the BI iOS app in the following ways:
1) While on home network, and iPhone is connected to home LAN, I connect to BI server - No issues
2) While away from home, and connected to WIFI (i.e. in a hotel while on travel), I turn on VPN...

After performing tests for several days, I can comfortably say this is an issue with the hardware accelerated decode setting in Blue Iris.
Hardware accelerated decode (restart): Intel.... Blurring/Trailing/Predator effect is present.
Hardware accelerated decode (restart): No...
I’m pretty sure this is a problem with Blue Iris hardware acceleration. Been running for a few days with no hw acceleration and no issues. Will turn it back on and let it run.
Perhaps something broke during OS update.
So once today when I walked out the front door, the motion is captured on two cameras, and they both blurred. But I've walked out the front door several times today, and it only happened once. Where does one set DNR? On the Camera-> Settings -> 3D NR, and the "Grade" slider? Currently set at...
Only occurs every once in awhile. Using cat5e solid- i make my own.
Rebooting cameras didnt help this time. I have been noticing some networking issues lately on other devices. Will keep investigating.
I take that back- Even a restart of Blue Iris is not correcting the problem. I will now be rebooting the cameras to see if it corrects things.
Cameras are Dahau DH-IPC-HDW2231R-ZS.
Settings in Blue Iris for one of the cameras:
Max Rate 400000 [25.00 fps]
Hardware accelerated decode: Default...
Every once in a while, my alert clips show motion as blurred, i.e. if someone walks by a camera they are sharp, then there is a trail of blur. When this happens, a restart of Blue Iris seems to fix things. Any suggestions on what could be causing this?
Its 2018. Font libraries are abundant, and memory is cheap (although more expensive in the last 24 months). I don't think asking for a 2018 font on a 1080p image is really a huge ask!
That said, I am EXTREMELY pleased with Blue Iris and the image quality on the DW2231R-ZS!!!
Digging up an old thread as I am having a similar issue.
Trying to configure a pop-up window on my HTPC (Kodi) if a Blue Iris alert is received. I have the receiving side completed (spent a bunch of time learning python today). Short of writing a full script on the Blue Iris side, I thought...
Was looking at this today and realized how nice the Blue Iris camera names and time overlays look.
Yet the overlays generated from the cameras look like VCR quality from the 80s. Not what I expected from hardware of this resolution.
I have OpenVPN running on home router. Looking for some recommendations on the best way top access live feeds/Alerts, etc, while away from LAN. I am only using iOS devices. I've also purchased the BI mobile app.
1) Connect to OpenVPN from OpenVPN Connect client app. Then access...
Just finished up reading all 45 pages, and am looking for some guidance/clarification. I am currently running Blue Iris, with only one camera installed (just starting out). My next space to add a camera to is my front door alcove. The doorbell is on the side wall of the alcove (perpendicular...
That-a-way, throw some salt on the wound!!! Just kidding. I appreciate you trying to help.
I thought about buying a new router out of frustration, but just kept forging forth..... Even today, I found another thing that doesn't work as advertised.
At the end of the day, it was a learning...
