portble battery powered 24h footage camera

I wouldn’t be concerned, check out the huge online following of this camera, plenty of guys in Arizona running these in a car windscreen continuously. Dashcamtalk forum had it as the most reliable cam to buy, not sure if it still does, don’t follow as much recently. USB fans are readily avalible...

portble battery powered 24h footage camera

Looney you may be correct but Mobius comes in three versions for viewing angle iirc. Looked it up.... “ Q. What are the widest FOV of the A, B & C lenses? A. Standard “A” Lens in 1080P wide = 85 deg./Wide Angle “B” Lens in 1080P wide = 116 deg./Wide Angle “C”/”C2” Lens in 1080P wide = 132...

portble battery powered 24h footage camera

This would be easy. Mobius dash cam with 26Ah Anker power pack and your golden. Mobius is tiny, low power consumption and very reliable. Biggest problem is storage space but low quality or time lapse if you can suffer it would be options.

    Sudden Spike in CPU Usage

Similar to my BI PC, no changes but seems to now be affected by the Intel driver issue. Go to drivers and see what version your on. Mine was fine for months, no update to the version but now affected :idk: Does the memory usage go up also?

cpu utilization of BI process rises up to 100%

Well as I think most of you know 4749 doesn’t work, or at least not in my case. It has however changed the problem. 4574 would max out RAM, 4749 takes RAM to around 80% but then causes CPU usage to max out afterwards. I need to get 4664 installed but that will have to wait for now.

cpu utilization of BI process rises up to 100%

Mine has just started crashing in a similar fashion every couple of days. I checked my driver when I saw this thread originally but all was fine on 21.20.16.4574 I have checked and this driver has not been updated but my PC is now affected. I cannot get 4664 linked to above to install but...

Hello from UK - looking for a few pointers

Ah this was the thread I was going to give an update on, I couldn’t find it last time. My cameras arrived shortly after I posted. No customs problems at all, up and running perfect. Infact I’m sure the ZE has a slightly better night view than my Z I already have running, hard to tell as...

Hello from UK - looking for a few pointers

Hi BigSpenda, good choice with the cams. I ordered my first (sept17 iirc) from Andy @ Empiretech by normal DHL, then I had a slower, non DHL delivery. Neither attracted any tax but I have heard DHL is getting more scrutiny now. I currently have another 2 starlights on route, I ordered a...

    How-To: Audio Inputs

You are right, I didn’t have that, video only. Typical, I looked over and over but obviously overlooked the video tab as I was only interested in audio settings  I can now enable the volume but still no sound output. Will have a play, hopefully something just as simple now. Thankyou

    How-To: Audio Inputs

Help please, I cannot get any audio from my setup. I have copied the OPs setup with my Hikvision DS-2CD2185FWD-IS albeit with the coax stripped to fit the Hik's terminal block. I have tried to enable audio in the Hik browser page but just get an error, I have tried all the formats but...

    Is my SSD dying?

I have my 'new' folder on primary SSD, I thought that’s the recommended way to do it? I was sure it said in BI to keep 'new' on primary drive.

    BI running on a new i9-7980XE (18 Cores, 36 Threads) = NICE!!!

No I realise that in some cases they are an improvement, ie where there is ample light and pixel density is important. High frame rates are nice to have but that’s a balance, I’m not sure how it works. If all other variables were equal would 1x30fps feed equal 2x15fps feeds in bandwidth and BI...

    BI running on a new i9-7980XE (18 Cores, 36 Threads) = NICE!!!

I suspected he might by that sentence, seems odd. People always focus on high frame rates and resolution  I’ve learnt from the guys here that in most cases it’s pointless.

    Lower cover door won't close - HFW5231EP-Z12

The hinge area has some movement. You have to kinda wiggle it back in before you close the cover, I had a couple of goes first time I opened mine. It needs no force as looney says.

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Hmm, I did suspect that although I did find a guide how to do it on that router and he had different options. It was an old article and I’m on a fairly new firmware. Perhaps I need to do it on my BI PC, it’s only an i5 but it’s lightly loaded with only six cams so hopefully I have the headroom...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

I know you guys don't suffer fools but id really appreciate some help here. I cannot fathom out what I need to do. Below is a screenshot from my router, can this be used? It has a IPSEC page which looks like I might be on the right area but how do I know what to populate the fields with? Is...

How can I improve on this facial image?

Imo forget the transit door, the overview covers all that. Zoom right in on the entrance, you want just the very edges of the wall to frame the shot. Get a third camera if you really want another area covered close up or fear people hoping the wall to gain entry.

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Hi Andy, that’s crap. I have a DHL notification from 'one village' is that you, my last orders have said empiretech but I’m not expecting much else by dhl? Will you have stock of the z12 soon? Edit, just seen a few in stock duh, should have waited.

    Review-Dahua Starlight IPC-HDW5231R-ZE 800 meter capable ePOE

Just ordered one from Empire, hope I did right, slightly cheaper than the non ePoE version which seems strange. I’m only going to use sub 50m so either would of been fine.

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I used the parental control settings on my router, that's dead easy if your router has this feature. I just set it to block all internet access 24/7 for my cameras, everything else works perfectly still with no real risk of messing anything up.

    Problem with DS-2CD2385FWD-I

My 216j is running a 4K and a 4MP hik no issues at all with medium CPU usage both at full res settings, 10fps. What does your CPU usage read? Fwiw, the 4K is awesome but the 4MP hik is not much different from my 2mp starlight Dahua in daylight, obviously both are worse in the dark.

2 outdoor camera setup - Advice please

It's OK, it has WD reds, I'm happy they will cope just fine for now, if they fail I will try purple. Edit: Both should be fine, WD say they both have '3D active balance plus' and both support TLER, neither support RAFF (redPRO or PurpleNV only) but that's not really an issue I think?

2 outdoor camera setup - Advice please

As above, just received my 5231 from Andy(Empire) today, ordered last thurs iirc and I delayed DHL a day because no one was home yesterday. Great service for UK buyers. I've now set my Synology to constantly record the sub streams, and I have blue iris motion recording in full res. Might not be...

Sorry I'm in UK, that one I linked is £250 from Andy without discount, not sure what that is in dollars? I don't think there is anything inbetween, you might get similar low light but better resolution with the Hik low light cams, not sure what the price is on these, Andy only lists Dahau...
