I'm running a 9900ks / nvidia titan Xp (basically a touch better than a 1080ti).
GPUz reports that the gpu is running pretty consistently at 75% -- not a huge deal, temps are manageable (I've done a custom water cooling loop on the cpu and gpu, in the low 40s).
But is this normal? seems high...
I know I'm a way behind on this, but just got around to installing code project. WOW-- so easy to install, and works so well.. within minutes, my wife / kid were out side, he was on his bike, and a fede truck in the background, got a 85% person, 85% person 80% bike, 80% truck notification ...
ok, thanks. I frankly haven't been keeping up with the AI developments in BI I'll take a look at codeproject. Does that also offload processing to the GPU?
I'm just getting my feet wet on installing deepstack, and using the GPU install. wading through getting cuDNN installed, etc ... that alone is a little murky. Before I dissect the instructions on Nvidia's site, is there a more digestable guide to getting deepstack GPU version up and running?
Obviously would have to be in a VM --- I'm currently running in a stand alone PC, wondering if anyone has any positive experiences doing this. Just upgraded mine to a 9900t, 2x m.2 2tb cahce drives, 4x 10tb barraccudas, and 32gb ram. I understand the general consensus has been for a while that...
ok, good to know :-)
given my limnitations for now -- running off a hotspot (limited wifi range) , no electricity, and can't mount anything permanently yet, ring may just be the best
I'm not tied to solar, just have to use a battery.
Anyway, reolink looks a bit better-- higher resolutoin, faster bps, and battery life doesn't seem terrible.
from the top corner of the garage (north right corner on the gif) to the bottom corner front of the house (south right corner on the gif) is about 70'
the bottom (south on the pic) is about 45 feet
like I said, it's doing a serviceable job, but not great. The ring cameras take snapshots every 30 seconds. The motion detection is an issue as you mentioned, but I have them grouped together so that if any one of the cameras sense motion, all of them start recording. As for the battery power...
currently building a new house-- it's on the shore/beach, and is pretty visible... finished framining the third story, and want to add in some cameras to watch over the site while I'm/construction guys aren't there.
Right now no doors, windows, and barely sealed against the elements, won't be...
building a new house on the water -- around 7,000 square foot, three stories.
Here's the footprint, I'm thinking around 6 cameras or so from andy on the first floor should do it, where I put the arrows, then maybe a camera on the second or third story on the front/back/side of the house to get...
yeah, that's one thing I'm thinking of doing. I have unlimited space on drop, it just seems to really not like files that are changing while being uploaded ... totally wigs out.
I have plenty of local storage, but trying to store at least 4-5 past days to the cloud.
I have dropbox business, but it just really isn't working -- it doesn't know what to do with files that are constantly changing... seems like it never gets past checking the BI folder (even though I'm only...
pretty much what was said above... create a clone of your cameras, edit the primary stream so that it refers to the the substream (in dhua, change "subtype=0" to "subtype=1")
Then change where you store video for that camera in the clips tab, so you're not storing hi res and low res in the same...
My current setup has 18 cameras recording 24/7, at 4k resolution.
Needless to say, this is a lot of disk space -- which isn't a problem locally-- but I'm also mirroring some of the most recent video to online cloud storage. But it's still a ton of files, to the point where the cloud app is...
I'm currently running a BI 5.0 system with 14 Dhaua IPC-HFW81230E-ZE purchased from Andy. All are working fine, except one of them keeps going out of focus-- this happens every day, when it switches from day to night, it goes out of focus and stays out of focus until I switch it back. I've...
for what it's worth, the 2699 made a massive, massive difference .. went from 90+% cpu usage on the 6850k, now down to 25-30% with the 2699, for practically the same tdp. Granted, not what I'd recommend for a BI setup and certainly not efficient, but saved me from having to spend money to get...
I'm currently running BI on an older x99 platform (I know this is not an ideal platform for BI since it doesn't have quicksync -- It's a system I already had and cost me nothing). I'm currently running a 6850k (other specs -- 64gig ddr 4 ram, samgg 980pro nvme boot/3x 10tb wd red drives). I'm...
I just ran a POE wire from house to our dock... dug it by hand (way too rocky for a machine), buried the wire, hooked up the camera.. and realized I want two cameras down there. I don't want to re-run another wire.
and I have no power down there either.
Are there any switches that take a POE...
Thanks -- running 2.622.0000004.0.R, Build Date: 2018-06-25, downloaded from one of andy's posts. I'll try a factory reset
Thanks, through trial and error last night I found that zooming it in a touch -- I have it zoomed completely out, zooming it in a notch or two fixes the focus issue-- I'll...
purchased a IPC-HFW81230e-ZE from Andy, thing will not focus -- it goes out of focus at night, I tried going directly to the camera web ip address and manually focus it, but by the next day, it's out of focus again. I tried upgrading to latest firmware, now it just stays our of focus..
any ideas?
