    Super Bowl!

Wow! I was always contract, the red headed step children. We didn’t get formal training, just threw us in the dep end and see if we came back. I don’t see many guys gaffing anymore.

Yes it is; I climbed poles from Bonita springs to Miami to Daytona in the 90’s!

Do you seal the bottom of the mounting box when putting a cam in a tree or leave it open for water to escape?

What kind of mount did you use? Usually the mounting screws have a rubber grommet for a seal. I usually try to seal connections inside the weather resistant boxes but if you’re using something else and want to leave a hole for drainage, make it small. Nothing like opening a wasp nest while...

So it’s actually StevenfromKansas?! OP, the land of CCTV! Between OP and Leawood makes up 50% of my business, heading down there shortly to troubleshoot a microwave.

Los Angeles Sherriff Want Access To Cameras Using A Device

^^^unfortunately it’s much worse than that. That’s why all phones are made so you can’t easily take the battery out.

Los Angeles Sherriff Want Access To Cameras Using A Device

I wonder how many insane or people with more money than common sense will sign up? Trying to look into it is even shadier; a quick Whois search seems to indicate the company is a joint front for Amazon and MI5 Assholes should be paying the people for access.

    How to get Sound Deterrent

When the TioC first came out I recorded and uploaded to the cam an mp3 that played - “honey, get the guns (cocks 12 gauge).” And another for inner urban locations; “Break yoself bitch, you gonna die!

    How to get Sound Deterrent

You could go a different route as well; wire up a fire/burg annunciator and or strobe to the NVR alarm out ports.

That’s what I was thinking, it is coax. Try pulling that camera mount off and seeing if you can pull the other end out.

    Cuban Classic Cars

Growing up in SF a lot of friends were Cuban. If someone got upside down on a vehicle, fully insured of course, you could sell it to them and away she went! Guess they didn’t need titles back then.

I’ve put a few of these bad boys in lately, pretty powerful, definitely overkill for residential but if you’re into that, future proofing and scalability. Not sure what the non-US versions everyone here uses model number translates to. https://us.dahuasecurity.com/product/n98a5n/

How to use auto tracking with VC-SDV4825IW-F

If that view is from the monitor connected to nvr in display menu there’s an option ‘show ivs rule.’ If that’s smart pss you should be able to just right click on stream.

    One camera - two barriers

After the 2 hours on phone yesterday with tier 1 I’d say you have to use the camera. I don’t see why you’re plan wouldn’t work, there are 2 pairs of alarm outs on pigtail, just designate one for each RTE

Excel template for dahua lpr whitelist

Anybody have a link to it? Last week before my bout of food poisoning I stumbled upon it on the wiki and my dumbass didn’t bookmark it! Dahua tech support can’t find it, which in itself boggles the mind. Between them and trying to search history on all my devices I’ve wasted 4 hours this...

Any network gurus want to chime in

Well back to drawing board, att guy didn’t want to have to risk cutting existing 2 pairs to strip back cladding to get to last pair. Your suggestion sounds plausible but I’ll have to check specs; for some reason I’m thinking it’s 850nm which isn’t listed on that part. My other thought was maybe...

    Lightning bolt

I’ve got a couple just like that, they can hang on for decades. Eventually water gets into the split and then the fungi and carpenter ant’s hollow it out and one side gets blown down.
