Thousands in NC hit with overdrawn accounts after bank withdrawals by mortgage company

I don’t know anyone who’s had a check washed or their online banking hacked. I know it’s all about location, location, location, but check washing is a thing down here, to the point where thieves steal from the mailboxes AT some of the post offices (although the Postal Inspector here won’t...

Thousands in NC hit with overdrawn accounts after bank withdrawals by mortgage company

IMO this is probably the safest way to do it, especially if you have two-factor authentication enabled. You’re still an active participant (ie you initiate the payments) and you don’t have to worry about the small but present chance of your paper check being intercepted, “washed” and then used...

    Are Unify cameras good?

IMO because in the professional market (for which these cameras were designed) you can't assume that DHCP services are going to be available on the network segment the cameras are being installed on. Hik/Dahau do make a few consumer-grade models that ship from the factory DHCP-enabled. But...

Blue Iris Service starting and stopping over and over...can't open program

I got myself into a loop like that a few months ago. While investigating why my CPU was running 20-30% higher than normal, I noticed that the BI option for Hardware Decode had changed to "NO" on all of my cameras. WTH? Without thinking, I went through and re-enabled Hardware Decode on all...

    Hot Cameras?

x2 on pretty much everything above! I have one 5442 LED model, used for a review. After the review, I ended up disabling the LED light and moving the camera to the brightest location around my house at night (closest to a streetlight). It does OK there, but a normal 5442 (w/ IR) would do even...

Tip ! Excellent new? feature I just discovered and really like in UI3, 1 camera up at motion.

I can't wait to see the new timeline replay feature added (where you click the button when you're in a camera's live view and it rewinds back 30 seconds).

    Review-OEM Loryta IPC-T5442T-ZE Varifocal 4mp camera (Dahua)

BI can detect the Dahua IVS/Hik Smart Events, which are the better versions of motion detection those brands add to most of their cameras. For those features to work on a NVR, the NVR needs to be the same brand as the camera.

Trying to find Dahua original version of a Lorex camera. Was gonna add one cam with microphone to always well lit small area of home.

I'm probably misreading your post (so apologies in advance), but IIRC the 5442T-ZE comes with a microphone. Are you looking for an 8MP varifocal turret with a microphone?

    Blue Iris & ISY944

Profiles can be pretty cool. I have one setup where the cameras are set to not send notifications. I use that when I'm working in the yard/driveway and get tired of my phone/watch being buzzed every 30 seconds.

    Blue Iris & ISY944

I think changing profiles might the easiest. Have one profile where your garage camera doesn't record full-time, then another profile where it does. Use an ISY program to toggle the profiles based on the garage door status.

    IPC-HDW5442TM-AS-LED issues

Are they not triggering, or are they triggering but just not recording? If they're not recording, make sure you selected IVS in the SmartEvents area and I think you need a separate recording schedule setup as well. Also remember that if you put a tripwire or intrusion zone close the side of...

    Review-OEM 4mp AI Cam IPC-T5442TM-AS Starlight+

When the camera brand doesn't match the NVR brand (i.e. Hik NVR + Dahua camera), basic ONVIF functions should work (like recording, changing camera settings, etc), but advanced camera features usually don't work. For example, Dahua cameras have a feature called IVS which is a much better...

Confused as to which camera to get

IIRC, the last one on the list is EOL, with the #2 on your list having replaced it. The LED model uses bright white LED lights (instead of IR lights) to create extra light when the scene gets dark. This allows it to stay in color mode when cameras that use IR would have switched to B/W mode...

    Review IPC-T5442TM-AS-LED (Full Color, Starlight+)

I think it depends a lot on the area. If you have one of these cameras on an enclosed area like a porch or patio, I think it's going to light it up a lot brighter (like a porch light) than if you have it mounted on the side of your house pointing out to your yard. In any case, the camera...
