Blue Iris 5 Reolink Cameras and Hardware Acceleration Not working

ALl I can say is that my experience with Reolink shows that their frame and iframe rates are garbage. Have a look in Blue Iris at the cameras tab and you'll see what I mean. Hardware acceleration just wont't work with an iframe rate that low and that is a common problem with all the low end...

Needing Budget Friendly and Effective Outdoor Setup

We've had several incidents of unlocked car "break-ins" in the community so a number of homeowners in here ran out and bought WiFi garbage like Ring, Reolink, Nest, etc. While those are better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick it's kind of ridiculous for these homeowners to think...

Advice needed re new CCTV system.

You are re-inventing the wheel. On a real computer, study the Cliff Notes and all the links that @SouthernYankee has provided. He's giving good advice. Use search at upper right corner of this page. Tackle one thing at a time. Reolink is garbage. Stay away from Nest, Ring, Arlo and Wifi cams in...

Will Reolink Argus work with BI?

I wanted to test things for myself and had a budget that allowed me to do so, as a result I have installed multiple camera brands, ranging from Hikvision to Dahua to Hosafe to Reolink to Aliexpress $29 no-name cameras to several hundred dollar PTZ cameras. You definitely do get what you pay...

    Hello to all.

:welcome: ------------------------------- Never heard of backstreet-surveillance.com I strongly recommend that new members only use HikVision or Dahua cameras, they are relatively easy to setup and have few bad behaviors. No name cameras seem to always have some problems or they take forever to...

    Reolink IP Cameras

You have never seen a good camera from hik and dahua. Perhaps if you spent more than 5 minuets "researching" you would see what a quality low light camera with a good sensor looks like. You are clueless. Reolink is trashcan garbage. THE FRAME RATE CHANGES TO 12 AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE SCAMMERS AT...

High Level Questions from a new Member

So a couple questions: 1. I was playing around with setting up OpenVpn on my asus router, for another purpose a few weeks ago, didn't work for me since my job blocks me from being able to VPN, however I have the SSH server turned on in my asus router and I have an app on my android phone called...

High Level Questions from a new Member

:welcome: ----------------------------------- Ring is garbage. Blue Iris does not set resolution or frame rate, that is done in the cameras. Blue iris sets nothing in the cameras, camera configuration is in the camera. You can use an SD card to record the camera, but then you would need to...

    Hi

The best solution is to wire it up, cheaper than you think and you have to power the cam anyway. Also, understand that any camera can be made wifi with the use of a cheap wireless bride or powerline adapters. Dont settle for a crapy wifi camera with a poor sensor.

    Hi

I wish I would have found this site before these I Purchased 4 E1 Pro, had problems from day one. Android app continually fails live view. Cameras are useless as a remote wifi security solution. Reolink knows these cameras are flawed and will not work. Will only work as same network nanny cam...

Connecting Reolink RLC 410 to Hiwatch Hikvision NVR

It talks no more expertise to setup a blue iris system then to setup a reolink crap system. They have never seen a good night time image to compare their crap to. They dont have competent code writers (not sure where you are getting this misinformation) and I question whether they make their...

Connecting Reolink RLC 410 to Hiwatch Hikvision NVR

It's simply that the majority of Reolink customers are know-little consumers taking their first steps into CCTV with no intention of ever venturing outside the Reolink eco-system. They're happy with the Reolink client software and apps which work just fine across all the main platforms and they...

Connecting Reolink RLC 410 to Hiwatch Hikvision NVR

Once again you are misinformed. Every single that will camera with PTZ is controllable with blue iris it's simply a settings issue. Reolink cameras are not compatible with blue iris, when using direct to disc. There is an rtmp method it is inefficient and sometimes helps but is not a proper...

Connecting Reolink RLC 410 to Hiwatch Hikvision NVR

I have read the Reolink threads here and there are several posters claiming that their Reolink cams work just fine with Blue iris. Conversely, there are several posters saying that their Dahua cameras don't get any PT or Z controllability in Blue Iris. And maybe if I were to read other forums I...

You are confused, the company is NOT being slandered, everything that has been said about the company is 100 percent accurate and true, they are a garbage lying company. I am sorry to see that you are too inexperienced and inept to see this. This garbage company spammed this forum and lied to me...

Noob looking for some wifi ip cameras

Thanks for responses, got some useful information and bookmarked some links. Hmm good point. Not sure about iframes, haven't used them as measurement before. I guess it relates to compression quality in video with a lot of motion. Which is what would be highly important for our use case, so...

Noob looking for some wifi ip cameras

Of course: "It depends" Can you have a reliable WiFi? Yes.. but it depends... AND THAT'S THE ISSUE. You can not call it "reliable technology" if it depends on all sorts of conditions.

Noob looking for some wifi ip cameras

That's what I did for a while. I don't know the Reolink product line. I'd be disinclined to go with them, anyway. (See below.) But my experimental cameras were an Argus and a C1 Pro. I don't know why that's the consensus, but I would agree. Quality- and functionality-wise the two I had...

    "Smart Codec" Yes or No?

Nope and nope. Under Edit Camera -> Device Settings -> Advanced there is Codec Optimization -> Customize keyframe interval (frame), but that's it. Not here. SS reconfigures both my Dahua cameras and the one Reolink. In fact, IIRC: If I'm logged directly into one of my Dahua cams and change...

    Reolink?

Yeah, stay away from reolink if you are using BI. I have been using my reolink with BI for the past 2 years and it isn't too bad but I do not have it streaming outside of my BI machine so many that might cause issues if I try that.

reolink argus pro - corruptions and other weirdness

oh trust me, id like to buy a dahua one but dont have the founding for that or the ability to run cables to it to power it or give it network connectivity. I only really use my reolink for watching the wildlife in my garden and got it for cheap, so there really isnt a reason for me to spend...

reolink argus pro - corruptions and other weirdness

Reolink is a garbage company, with garbage products. Wifi is horrible for security cam use. Purchase a real camera from Dahua, Hikvision or IPCamTalks own brand. Run an Ethernet cable to the cams location. Study this: Cliff Notes.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS Starlight Camera-Varifocal

Anything but Reolink garbage! There are numerous Dahua models, bullets if you must have a small foot print mount, that make Reolink and all the other, similar, brands look like the junk they are. Try a IPC-HFW4231E-S for example. I get usable color video at night with a streetlight about 150...

Looking for help setting up Reolink NVR with a camera from another brand.

That is incorrect. This forum is full of average end users running blue iris. For most setups a 100 dollar pc and 60 bux for blue iris is more than sufficient. Dahua does not take any more "technical knowledge" to setup than reolink. If you are using reolink p2p you have exposed all those other...

Looking for help setting up Reolink NVR with a camera from another brand.

But your average end-user is not going to setup a dedicated computer when an NVR is much more cost effective. I have a Dahua NVR at my house with several different brands of cameras, including Reolink in the mix. I have setup 15+ camera setups for other people. I have tried a Dahua setup twice...
