    Reolink - good & bad

Just curious, have you used their products? You are nice to point out some mistakes they made and help other make an informed purchase decision. Frankly, I am not quite comfortable hearing these especially my experience with the product.

Having a tough time trying to build my own system..

Ok dont really know where else to post. Im a new member and ive been looking into getting a home surveillance system. I know i want atleast an 8 channel nvr but for the time being i would be satisfied with a system that only includes 4 cameras. The problem is im overwhelmed with all the choices...

    Greetings from Denver, CO

Hey Folks, Discovered this site about a month ago and finally joining and absorbing it all. In the process of setting up my own DIY system with a Netgear GS724TPS 24 port switch as my POE backbone and a Dell Optiplex SFF PC with a Core2 Quad 2.67 Ghz CPU and 8 GB of DDR3 RAM running Windows...

    Reolink - good & bad

Wrong..first, there is zero issue with a security hole that can only be exploited via port forwarding. Only a complete idoit would port forward a camera. Second, dahua is a target because of its volume of sales...reolink has crap sales and therefore no hackers care....the hack was used to create...

    Reolink - good & bad

Yes, I hate the fact I cannot shut off the ir sensors. I am going with Dahua if reolink ever gives out... I find it funny that Dahua had a backdoor, no one cared though. If reolink had a backdoor it would be "see, I told you so" GARBAGE! :)

    Reolink - good & bad

Actually it is...be respectful or I will remove you. Not sure why you feel the need to lie, when you obviously have no clue about the ownership of this forum. Fool. I thank you for keeping this reolink is garbage thread at the top so that others can be warned.

    Reolink RLC-423 question.

Wireless Battery Powered HD IP Cameras for Blue Iris

Good point ;) I mainly use Dahua but was just bringing it up cause I saw it awhile back advertised and thought it might be an option for someone out there.

Wireless Battery Powered HD IP Cameras for Blue Iris

No battery power camera can EVER work with blue iris or a vms...the reason is simple..the only way these cameras can have extended battery time is because they are off 99.99999 percent of the time...they turn on when motion is detected by pir... Regardless, reolink is garbage.

    Reolink - good & bad

That... that right there is why it's hard to take you seriously. You just contradicted yourself by saying "does not work in Blue Iris" and then admitting that I was in fact able to get it to work. For the record, I'm pretty sure Blue Iris recommends baseline for all H.264, don't they...

    Reolink - good & bad

Reolink is shit and does not work in blue Iris..By your own admission to get it to work you had to set it to baseline which is lower quality... Furthermore reolink lied on their Twitter feed and on this forum.... Wi-Fi is unacceptable for for surveillance cameras. Furthermore you can turn any...

Buying first home, want customized surveillance -- please help!

Awesome, I'll read your reviews for the Dahua cameras and go that direction. Also, not really building a computer so much as just reprovisioning it. It used to be my unRAID box but I just upgraded to a dual Xeon build for that computer and wanted to be able to utilize (what I feel) is still a...

Buying first home, want customized surveillance -- please help!

Please STOP. Start doing some research before wasting 2k on a pc with an old processor and reolink cameras which are not only garbage but wont work well with blue iris... higher resolution is not always better, in fact its generally worse for low light and night vision..see dahua starlight...

Using Blue Iris with a remote P2P Cam

    1) reolink and garbage and has issues with blue iris since they refuse to properly update their firmware, search reolink 2) high cpu usage is likely the result of not enabling direct to disk recording (requires licensed version will not function in demo). 3) you will need an ip address..you will...

No, 10000% do no work for them! It is just my experience, I tried to search prior to making the post and only saw that one thread about how they lied about blueiris but then someone said after firmware it worked and then @rnatalli made a post helping configure to work with BI but I have been...

    Reolink - good & bad

You are either blind or work for reolink. There are many threads here discussing issues with reolink cameras. Hopefully folks will come to this forum and see that reolink falsely advertises their cameras as blue iris compatible. These cameras are garbage and the company lied to its user base on...

Reolink decided not to add iFrame interval because it'll cause issues for "some people".

I've had some issues with my ReoLink 420s too with Blue Iris. Every now and then there are artifacts in the video stream, which becomes very noticeable when it triggers the motion detection. Occasionally it happens a lot, like 50-100 in a night, and then it can be weeks with no issues. So far I...

Reolink RLC 410 and Blue Iris

I don't understand what the foscam forum has to do with this...You might be willing to waste your money on the new guy to give them a chance but that is hardly a reason to recommend them... Reliability should be at the top of the list...I have no problem calling out a lying company....That's the...

Reolink RLC 410 and Blue Iris

I understand what you're saying, but I'm not suffering from anything and hardly unable to admit I bought a subpar product. Spending a little over a $150 for 2 new Dahuas and 15 minutes setting them up would not represent any kind of burden on me, but I don't see the need. I actually prefer my...

Reolink RLC 410 and Blue Iris

The fact that reolink lied to its customer base on this forum is not outdated. In fact the firmware update that you got is likely the result of posts on this forum.... With respect to Blue Iris it does not use double the CPU as xprotect .... particularly if you use Hardware acceleration. Also...

Reolink RLC 410 and Blue Iris

This information is outdated. Since the most recent firmware, running the cameras in high or main with hardware acceleration enabled presents no issues. I have been doing so and have seen no more or less problems with the stream as I do with my Hik which is more likely due to noise on my...

Reolink RLC 410 and Blue Iris

I haven't seen issues running either High profile or Baseline. I'm sure Dahua works great, I don't have much experience with them however. If I had bought a couple cameras of any brand and had continuous problems, I'd probably feel the same way as other people here. I'm just stating that I...
