Anyone have a good solution for driveways?? Don't get me wrong, this definitely reduces false alerts, but if someone parks in my driveway won't this register all future motion events positive? I'm trying to eliminate false alerts from trees swaying, but if you park in the driveway instead of...

Good call.. the cams ordered as I'll want better visibility to cars coming/going but at least I can run a test

    IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 LPR from 137 feet

This will probably be an impossible feat. Did I mention my house also sits about 10 feet above street level, and this would be 15 feet high? Maybe I'll get up there on a ladder and see if I can see over the tree I'm concerned about for a more direct angle. This will probably be ~ 150+ ft

Appreciate the honesty. Actually, if I pulled along side the local Telco in their pull pipe from the street I could mount near there, but I'd need to get into their box, and it'd be pretty out in the open. Maybe car id alone is good enough and at that point drop down to the 5 vs 12

Make sure your command to run doesn't include " for CPU" that's not part of the argument

    IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 LPR from 137 feet

Hope this isn't a derail.. I want to add this camera but my angle to the street would be pretty severe.. maybe 60-75 degrees, there's a big tree that would block my ability to get this down. My house is at the end of a dead-end circle but the set back is between 40-100 feet depending on the...

Yea I was having reliability issues that I think we're linked to two bad ram slots on my mobo. They are intermittent causing no boots periodically. In my debug I swapped sticks around and landed on 2x2gb, but had 2x8gb I forgot about . Anyways this thing flies now.

Well I had an SSD and 16GB of RAM laying around.. clonezilla'd and dropped it in. All my problems solved. Slow pc = unreliable. Docker service set to automatic start, no issue, windows 10 pro.. but i suspect would've been fine with home.

Auto logon there is a password but it is not required. CPU is i5 3570 w/ 4GB RAM CPU normally hovers around 20-40% without this load. RAM 1GB Maybe the speed is related to my HDDs they are ancient too. This was some old PC that hadn't been used for a few years, I swapped out the CPU from a...

I have to come to terms that my aging pc is not capable of running BI and this workflow. I got it going but any image processing drive the CPU to 100% making the ability to respond to other events unreliable. I'll considering upgrading the box but for the time being I'll deal with my false...

Changed from automatic to automatic delayed start.. seems to be working? Gotta love non-realtime triggered systems. This is why we don't use "time".. race conditions are real people. Especially on repurposed EOL hardware..

What did I do? I just fixed it.. I'm not sure exactly what I did. I went into services.msc, and confirmed the Docker desktop service was set to automatic, I changed the login to my current w/password. Restarted the service, then rebooted. It appears to work?

Yuck.. it's not a container issue, that starts up right when docker starts. But when I get into windows, Docker is saying the service isn't running and asks if I would like to start it. Well sure, I hit yes and it goes, but why isn't the service starting?? :( I have it set to automatic, i...

Blue Iris picture frame / UI3 camera viewing station

Will do.. I've got this running now: https://mrworf.github.io/photoframe/2018/02/26/setting-up-photoframe.html It'd be killer to have my frame cycle through photos, UI3, maybe local weather ;) Now you've got me intrigued!!

Revive!! I've got my own photo frame running on a pi tied into google photos. Does shotwell support displaying images from Google Photos? Sorry if I missed why you stopped using google photos.. WAF for me depends on her being able to "add to album" on the go and it just showing up on our frame..

    Alert with pre-trigger

I've got my system running continuous recording, with a 10 second pre-trigger buffer. Alerts sending 10 second video to email. Great except what 10 seconds of video is sent? It appears it sends 10 seconds from the alert on. I'd prefer to see the pre-trigger through the alert. Anyway to do this?

I get that, but what I'm showing here is that with IR off on the left and with IR on, on the right. There is margin improvement, if any. Would it benefit from an off camera ir source? Sure, but the ir on camera does not help and actually hurts the motion detection as it causes near field blow...

Well.. I'm an n00b. I just shut my IR off completely and I'm good to go. I've got a light next to the doorway this is observing. Along with architectural lighting on the front of the house and the neighbor's.. the IR provides no benefit. I've got BLC on.. these starlight cameras are remarkable.

Awesome, illuminator in my case would need to be in front of the camera but could point away from the lens, towards, or across the face. I assume towards would be bad and across the face would add glare. Would it be reasonable to mount the illuminator at the same corner of the house but at a...

It's that time of year. Snow is coming down and I just got my 2nd camera up.. recording continuously, but alerts just raining in as the snow is detected as motion. Yuck. My recording is 5fps, so the snow has long "trails". Do I set contrast and object size high? I want alerts for humans. I...
