    IPC-T2231T-ZS IPC-HX2XXX-Molec_MultiLang_PN_V2.800.0000000.19.R.200628

Update: I think my intermittent IPC-HDW2231T-ZS-S2 image problem was fixed by the latest Blue Iris update (Release 5.2.9.14 x64 (6/9/2020)). It's hard to be sure with intermittent problems but images have been normal for three days.

Disregard. Don't know how or why, but now cycle images fill the Chrome window as I would expect.

Small Image while cycling cameras in windows Chrome ui3

When I open ui3 in Windows Chrome and cycle cameras, the cam images only fill about 2/3 of the window. I can zoom but even the first zoom step (x1) overflows the window (edges outside window). Changing resolution doesn't matter. In Windows Explorer the images fill the window as I would...

Latest New 20181228 Firmware for DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea

Camera not yet installed but seems to work fine. Just wanted to follow-up on possible firmware update before installing.. Super after-market tech support. Thanks.

Latest New 20181228 Firmware for DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea

Checking if there is an update is for HDBW4231F-E2-M multi-lens. I have no real problems and cam works OK in Explorer but Chrome requires a plug-in. I have firmware version 2.622.0000000.32.R, Build Date: 2019-08-27

    IPC-T2231T-ZS IPC-HX2XXX-Molec_MultiLang_PN_V2.800.0000000.19.R.200628

Andy: What is status of firmware update for HDW2231T-ZS-S2? Word doc in top post doesn't open. Is it a bad link or is a different update pending? I have a IPC-HDW2231T-ZS-S2 that works OK except Blue Iris image goes bizarre (see below) at random periods: jpg snapshot much bigger (500K-900K)...

    Reolink IP Cameras

Well, fenderman was right, even if he is less than diplomatic. He said I was satisfied with Reolink only because I had never seen images from a good camera. I have replaced all my Reolink cams with Dahua starlights: mostly T5442TM-AS plus two HFW1831E for wide area over-watch and one T2231T-ZS...

REVIEW: Budget 4MP Turret Comparison - IPC-T2431T-AS vs Chinese HDW4433C-A

FYI, I have two IP cams and a TiVo in my barn, which has 120v power but no hardwire LAN. I use a pair of NanoStation AC Loco 5GHz airMAX bridges and a POE switch to connect to my LAN. Edit: The two NanoStations cost about $100 but I preferred that to burying a cat5 line. My bridge is only...

    Dahua HFW1831E Focus?

Thanks for the tip. Where did you get the frosted mylar?

    Dahua HFW1831E Focus?

I am somewhat happier with the 1831s. I'll explain. First is an IR shot from a HD2231T-ZS in a darkened room. This shows the crisp definition typical in my 2M and 4M Dahua cameras. The next shot show the "muddy" image I was getting from a new HFW1831E. Then I realized that that camera...

    Dahua HFW1831E Focus?

Thanks for the inputs. The focus is probably good enough so I'll leave it alone for now. I bought these on eBay from a guy (not Andy) in Hong Kong. I intended to order from Andy (eventually) but it was a late-night impulse purchase. By all outward appearances the cameras and packaging look...

    Dahua HFW1831E Focus?

I just got two 1831s for overwatch at my house. I had them up side-by-side (before mounting) to set up IPs, etc. I notice the image from one camera is noticeably sharper than the other. Is it practical to adjust the focus of these things?

How much power does an NVR use?

Data point: I just bought a new 27 in led monitor which consumes 25 watts when on (and next to nothing in standby). So a monitor uses almost as much power as a computer.

How much power does an NVR use?

See my posts: Reolink IP Cameras and Reolink IP Cameras Short answer is 10-15 watts for NVR (plus cams if PoE). A late-model commercial PC will be 30-50 watts. A DIY PC may be be a lot more. Monitor is extra but will normally power down when not actually in use. Maybe you need a newer PC...

    Pandemic threat? Anyone else concerned?

One of the great advances in modern medical science was the application of statistics to sort out what really works and how well.

    Pandemic threat? Anyone else concerned?

If this breaks out in some of the homeless encampments in US sanctuary cities it will become a serious problem. Otherwise, I think most of the US is in reasonably good shape. The draconian measures taken by the Chinese government indicate things there may be worse than we are told. Back in...

    Reolink IP Cameras

As far as I know B400 and D400 will ONLY work with a Reolink NVR. I screwed up a while back and bought a D400 by mistake. I'll find a use for it some day, maybe as a paper weight. I don't know about "old" firmware but sounds plausible.

    Reolink IP Cameras

I have several RLC-420s (and a 411) running on Blue Iris 5. No magic here. Just let BI FIND/INSPECT the cam or manually select "Reolink 410/411/420/422/425 BASELINE RTMP" in the setup script (or in camera settings/Video/configure). Possibly older versions of BI didn't work with Reolink but I...

    Reolink IP Cameras

I don't have a hoodie (dark or otherwise) but here are stills of me walking to the cameras. Both starlights and the Reolink failed to dim as I got very close and my image was very overexposed when I got within about 5 ft (guessing at distance). The 4631C-A actually adjusted exposure correctly...

    Reolink IP Cameras

I set up four cams on my front porch for a side by side comparison. The Cams are: 5MP Reolink RLC-420, Dahua HDW5442TM-AS, Dahua 2231T-ZS, and Dahua HDW4631C-A. The C-A is a cheap ($60) hacked Chinese model. The 5442 is a 4MP starlight (about $150) and the 2231 is a 2MP starlight with zoom...

I should add that my front porch (where these photos were taken) is very dark.

    Dahua HAC-HDW2802T-A or HDW4631C-A

I mounted a Reolink RLC-420 and Dahua HDW4631C-A, HDW2231T-ZS, and a HDW5442TM-AS cameras side by side to compare them. The Dahuas had default settings. They all worked well in daylight but the 4,5, and 6 MP cams showed better detail if I zoomed in (digitally) on the image (as expected). But...

    Has anyone tested the "IPC-HDW5541TM-AS"?

I too would be interested in feedback on this model. I have a couple of locations where the greater vertical view angle (relative to horizontal) would help a lot.. Sensor size is only one factor. The highly-regarded 5231 camera has a 1/2.8 in sensor (but 2 MP, not 4 or 5). I don't see if this...

    Is all QuickSync created equal?

Be sure to check it out. I have an HP8300 with the i7-3770 chip, a decent CPU and it does have Quick Sync. BUT the Win 10 Intel driver for this chip does not support Quick Sync and I don't want to go back to Win 7.

Are junction boxes necessary for camera installs?

I use a box where I don't have direct access to the space above the ceiling (or wall) and need to run surface wiring to the camera (through conduit). Half inch conduit is fine but most boxes have 3/4 inch threaded holes so you need a reducing bushing to 1/2 inch. Wire mold works too except...

    Reolink IP Cameras

Maybe so, but I paid $68 for the hacked HDW4631C-A and $175 for the nice T5442TM-AS, both on Amazon. OK, so not 3 times (only 2.6).

    Reolink IP Cameras

Taking this as a challenge, I realized that speed-step only works in the Power Saver profile. Choosing PS profile my average power dropped from 49 watts to 36 watts. CPU speed slowed from 3.4 GHz to 1.6 GHz but I'm still using only 20% of the CPU according to BI and only 10% according to task...

    Reolink IP Cameras

I wanted to see for myself how the hacked low-end camera compared to a high-end one from Andy that cost almost three times as much. And I did. Education isn't cheap but I'll find somewhere suitable for that cheap IP cam. I know what i-frame is but I don't understand why it's important to be...
