DS-2CD2432F "Failed to open sound" on iVMS-4200

Is the computer you're using on the same subnet? Does the cameras IP address respond to pings? I suspect the problem is more network related than camera or settings.

DS-2CD2432F "Failed to open sound" on iVMS-4200

How is the camera/network/pc set up? What is the browser saying? not found? access denied?

DS-2CD2432F "Failed to open sound" on iVMS-4200

Sorry, that was badly written - I should have said its a camera setting - so you need to go to the cameras configuration webpage (usually just the ip address of the camera). It's not a client side software thing.

Get jpeg image from camera for web-page

changing to channel 1 makes no difference :( I figured the chrome thing by looking at the inbuilt inspection/console, which flagged up a warning: [Deprecation] Subresource requests whose URLs contain embedded credentials (e.g. `https://user:pass@host/`) are blocked. See...

Get jpeg image from camera for web-page

Hi all, I have a small Lan hosted web-page which displays preview images from various webcams I have. The problem is I can't seem to get a still from my Hikvision DS-2CD2432 camera. The accepted url for getting a stream or image seems to be...

Static vs dynamic IP Address for camera

I did wonder about the port forwarding aspect. the problem is the web GUI is flakey, and tends to crash the camera (as does accessing the camera in any way other than via the shoddy desktop app).

Static vs dynamic IP Address for camera

there's no mention of the brand on the onvif list above, so I guess this isn't actually a feature. how dull :(

Static vs dynamic IP Address for camera

The ONVIF logo is pretty prominent on the first page of the spec sheet, from that I would assume the camera is compliant in some way - I'm not expert on the nuances of ONVIF, so I could be barking up the wrong tree here.. I'm going to follow the support centre's instructions as much as...

Static vs dynamic IP Address for camera

Thanks Myllerman, The camera is a 'Ucam247' it's an external HD IP Camera on a cat5E ethernet connection. I've checked the network cable, both for continuity and for network traffic, (hard work hanging out an upstairs window with a laptop!), swapped ports on the switch, and performed a hard...

Static vs dynamic IP Address for camera

I have a couple of cams around the house, all of which are on fixed IP addresses, set at the camera. I have recently opened a support case with the supplier of one of the cameras as it is dropping off the network. On reviewing the network settings the support staff have stated the following...

What dash cam are you using?

Mini 0803 - I love it - it's been running it since 2014. Has been fussy about the (Sandisc) SD card I first used, but the current Kingston card has been faultless. The battery is a bit tired now, and takes a few minutes to 'warm' up when it's cold out, during which it seems to prevent the...

DS-2CD2432F "Failed to open sound" on iVMS-4200

Okay. I appear to have sorted it. For the record if anyone else has this problem, there's a setting on the configuration page (via browser), under the video/audio heading, where you need to change the Video type from "Video" to "Video & Audio". Save the settings, and voila! you now have audio!

DS-2CD2432F "Failed to open sound" on iVMS-4200

Hiya As per topic title really, Clean install of iVMS and a new, out of box cube-camera from Hikvision. After connecting to the camera in iVMS, I get video without issue, but when i tell it to enable Audio in the main control window I get a popup in the bottom of the screen that says "Failed...

    that NPAPI thing..

Does anyone know how various camera manufacturers are progressing with updated their firmware to enable full functionality via web-browser that isn't dependent on NPAPI? I'm considering a Hikvision camera or two (probably DS-2CD2432F) for home use, and have gone as far as emailing their support...

    SD Cards Longevity question

Like a few of the others above, I found my mini 0803 didn't like Sandisc cards, but works faultlessly with Kingston cards. Makes me wonder if the Sandisc ones are dodgy, as counterfeit SD cards seems to be big business at the moment

    trying to get organised..

Yep, it's the NPAPI thing that chrome is saying is depreciated- is this just chrome being awkward? Over the years I've found Chrome better than Firefox for compatibility, I'd hate to think I have to reverse that thinking.

    trying to get organised..

Thanks, That hikvision looks the part, how fussy are they about the browser you use? The mustcam I have will only fully work with IE (or Edge), and even then insists on a plugin that has been depreciated. Other browsers can just view, not change settings. Can I access a realtime feed via...

    trying to get organised..

Howdy from the UK. Like others I'm sure, I've bought first, and thought later. So now I find myself with a pair of cameras I'm not really happy with, and wanting a third, or maybe replace all of them.. First camera is a Loftek Nexus 543, externally mounted to cover the front garden and...
