DS-2CD2335I experience - is this normal?

Nevermind. My 3 cameras had somehow been attacked by the backdoor exploit and the password had been changed. Thanks to this forum and AlastairStevenson and @bp2008 I was able to change the password back to normal. Now I just need to find out how to put 5.4.5 or later English firmware on these...

    R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

Thanks very much. You and @bp2008 saved the day!! I first failed with ver 1.0 but then found bp2008's latest 1.1 reset tool and it worked!! So I must have been hacked. So for these Chinese cameras, is there a way to update to 5.4.1 or later (in English) to avoid this problem again?

    R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

Were the DS-2CD2335-i cameras (Chinese origin firmware 5.3.6) subject to the backdoor exploit. I ask because suddenly 3 of my 10 cameras are not connecting to Blue Iris with a password error. I see the cameras in SADP but can no longer log in. Have I been hacked?

DS-2CD2335I experience - is this normal?

OK, so you've caught on that I am totally ignorant. These cameras are Chinese in origin and don't have an obvious reset button. I use Blue Iris. In Tinycam pro on my android phone, the message on the blank screen says, "Cam 7: No Signal, error 8000007a (Check Port/User/Password) 0

Perfectly normal as in they are not a qood camera to begin with? Any way to revive them? Thanks.

DS-2CD2335I experience - is this normal?

I installed 10 DS-2CD2335I cameras about 2 years ago. Three of the cameras have stopped producing any video - just a black screen. I see them on my network IP scanner and can log into them with SADP, but they don't product any video. I removed one and it physically looks fine. I tried...

Clips play for only one second, then pause on Android phone

Thanks very much for the response. My problem is new so your question got me to test on WiFi and on 4G. The problem only occurs on WiFi! I'm not sure why that is the now the case but I changed my LAN address in the mobile app to my WAN address and all is well. Any idea why my local address was...

Clips play for only one second, then pause on Android phone

I have the latest updates on my PC Server and Galaxy S8. When playing back a recorded clip on my phone, it play for one second then halts. If I press pause and then play again, it plays the next second and then halts again. I can go thru the clip one second at a time. Any idea why it is...

Anyone use Blue Iris with Omnipro II home automation?

I've now got my cameras appearing on my Omnipro 5.7e touchscreens. The image is small but actually quite clear. Ken, as usual had the link that would work- I needed to add a height command at the end of the URL. So here are the PC Dealer Access settings: IP Camera Name: Any text Type: MJPEG...

Anyone use Blue Iris with Omnipro II home automation?

HAI/Leviton says that I must find a URL in this format that bypasses any login screen (in other words, goes right to a video when put in a browser). http://IPAddress:Port/QueryString Can I shut off local LAN authentication in Blue Iris and come up with a URL like that? Thanks for any ideas....

Anyone use Blue Iris with Omnipro II home automation?

I'm hoping someone has experience with Blue Iris and Omnipro II 5.7e touchscreens? I've tried every URL I can think of in the PC Dealer Access HAI/Leviton software and can't bring up an image. The same URL works in a browser. The camera names do appear on the 5.7e, but I either get no image...

WeMo Devices - Cheap way to remotely reboot / turn on and off PC

Do the above devices require port forwarding to get Android access so that I can reboot the BI PC from vacation if it hangs? I had been planning on getting this IP Power Switch device which allows the port to be specified...

Cameras on 6 foot light post?

To wrap up this thread for anyone who may be interested in doing a similar install, here is some info: See pics below of lamp post from front and from side and the images they capture. I'm happy with the stealthiness from the street after adding a number plate. The number plate does not...

    This buggs me...

Yes, it was drizzling last night. Mystery solved. Thanks much. Do you think this is all internal IR or could it be that the visible spectrum Post Lantern above the camera may be adding to the reflections off of the rain?

    This buggs me...

I'm not sure if I have the same issue. My camera is mounted under a light on a lamp post. Am I seeing insects attracted to the lamp on this video at 1am? Or am I seeing something else here? <iframe width="640" height="390" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

tinyCam Monitor for Android and Blue Iris support

So are you recommending that I used TinyCam Pro from my phone when I want to see live thumbnails of all my cameras with the ability to select a single live camera with the best image quality I can expect out of BI server? And...Would I then use the BI's Andoid app when I want to review stored...

tinyCam Monitor for Android and Blue Iris support

Thanks, Fenderman. Does the webserver bitrate have any relationship to the in-camera bitrate that I set in each cameras firmware utility? BTW, is 4096 a good compromise setting for in-camera bitrate or should I choose 8192? I currently have in-camera fps set to 20fps and the i-frame set a 40...

tinyCam Monitor for Android and Blue Iris support

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy 6 and comparing the Android Blue Iris App to Tiny Cam Pro and have a couple of questions. I am definitely a newbie. The live image in Blue Iris App is OK but fairly blocky if I zoom in. So is the image in Tiny Cam Pro if I am set to Blue Iris v4 and Proprietary H264...

Cameras on 6 foot light post?

Thanks again. The daytime and nighttime performance was good yesterday without any noticeable interaction. The light from the lamp post itself and my landscape lighting gives me a reasonable nighttime view - see attached. Now I need to learn the ropes with BI as I'm getting too many triggered...

Cameras on 6 foot light post?

Here is a quick pic of the install. You might have to blow it up to see the 2 cameras. The nice thing is the cameras can't be seen from much of the street. I used two 4mm cams and split the panorama between them.

Cameras on 6 foot light post?

I'm making progress. I've picked two 4mm cameras which can be mounted on the back of the lamp post to conceal them from the street. Can I mount them one on top of another like this? Or will they interact in some way?

Cameras on 6 foot light post?

Thanks very much for the ideas. I'm going to try to hide the lamppost cameras a bit with a house number plate provided it doesn't cause glare or IR reflections back to the lens. I'm going to try two cameras at the lamppost tomorrow before drilling :)

Cameras on 6 foot light post?

I have the lamp post being installed tomorrow. I placed a 4x4 in the spot and mounted a Hikvision 2235i with 2.8 lens up at 5 feet. As a total noob, can I get some opinions on my image below? The camera needs to be tilted down a bit to get the full entry/driveway but I wonder about: Is...

Cameras on 6 foot light post?

Thanks. I was going to see if I could use a a 4 or 8mm Hik 2335-i. What do you think? There is a 20 foot wide drive area where anyone would need to pass.

Cameras on 6 foot light post?

I'm wondering if this idea might work. Physical security for the camera aside, would a Hik turret camera at about 5 feet give me a good enough image of my drive and house entry from the street? I'd be covering about 75 feet looking back at my drive/house.

Anyone know how to set up an HP J8762A Procurve 8 port POE managed switch?

Thanks very much. I believe the Prolific chips were cloned and it was the clones that caused the issues. I know most ham radio programs like HRD now won't support you if you don't use an FTDI USB to serial adapter.
