How to remove ring from turret cam?

I have a hikvision 2342 that I installed a while back that I need to adjust direction and I forgot how the ring comes off to loosen the screws and move it. Anyone know how it comes off? It's cold as hell in MN so I don't want to spend a bunch of time outside on the ladder. Thanks.

Low-er cost indoor can that will gel with hikvision NVR?

Thanks to all the phenomenal help from the folks on this forum I have a hikvision NVR set up with a single hikvision 2342 turret. I am beyond floored with how awesome this camera is. I have it pointed directly at my motorcycles in back and haven't had any problems since the attempted theft that...

Hikvision 7604 NVR only displaying 4:3?

This. When i joined this forum it was too get opinions on an HD analog system at Costco. Sure, it was a complete plug and play set, and would've been super easy to setup and use, but I am infinitely happier I took the advise of forum members and got ip cams. I had to buy stuff piecemeal and it's...

Hikvision 7604 NVR only displaying 4:3?

Could you mention which ones? Also, I've seen it at night now and I think it will work nicely. The only thing is license plates that drive buy reflect way too much ir and I can't read any of the numbers and letters on them. Just a shining box. That won't help for identification.

Hikvision 7604 NVR only displaying 4:3?

I have only tested in the day so far. Literally set it up twenty minutes ago. I may get some led infrared panels to use at night instead of the built in led if it doesn't suit my needs. Funny you didn't like the quality, it seems to be the best bang for your buck camera this forum from what I've...

Hikvision 7604 NVR only displaying 4:3?

I have my new NVR and camera hooked up and have the NVR outputting to my TV via HDMI, however, it's only outputting 4:3? I don't know if it's an issue with the camera or NVR. I've scoured the settings, but can't find any way to change output resolution. Please help

Who knows networking? How can I keep my new NVR septate from personal network?

Thanks x1000000. No one has laid it out this thoroughly yet this simply to understand. I have even asked on networking forums. Most people assume that other people already know networking, which I don't. Thank you!

Who knows networking? How can I keep my new NVR septate from personal network?

Im pretty sure you can set up a vlan and then create a VPN that is accessible from outside the network with ip cam apps. I have a very rudimentary understanding of all of this and am learning as I go, so don't take my word for it.

Who knows networking? How can I keep my new NVR septate from personal network?

That is pretty nice. Affordable too. If I had a more robust network I think I'd grab something like that, but my 4 channel NVR with 1 cam will do fine on a vlan on my existing router, I think. I'll look into that other firmware you mentioned too. I've always heard of ddwrt so I could look into...

Who knows networking? How can I keep my new NVR septate from personal network?

I did a little more reading. My router is running merlin custom firmware. Turns out that I'll need to flash tomato to get vlan functionality. I can then dedicate one LAN port as a vlan (I think) this will be the one I use to connect my NVR. I saw smart switch mentioned, is this the switch you're...

I have an Asus ac68u. I don't have a switch. What switch do you mean?

Who knows networking? How can I keep my new NVR septate from personal network?

I'd like to keep my new NVR and camera separate from my personal network. It's not a concern for speed, it's just to keep my personal network safe from malware or other attacks. How is this accomplished? Are there ways to partition off my router? Thanks

Do HD analog cameras suffice, or should I go ip?

That's the point ;) the tire center operates at close to a loss, because what else are you going to do while waiting for those free rotations, balances, and tire repairs? :)

Do HD analog cameras suffice, or should I go ip?

I won't knowing what I know now. I actually work in the tire department though.... Not major sales.

Do HD analog cameras suffice, or should I go ip?

Thanks for the input everyone. I ordered a single hikvision 2342 4mp and a hikvision DS-7604NI-E1/4P-2TB NVR and a long Poe cable. I'm going to start with one cam to watch my motorcycles and buy more as I go. Hopefully the NVR and cam pair well. Oh, and @Kawboy12R I actually work at Costco and...

Which NVR for single hikvision DS-2CD2342WD-I?

I'm OK paying more for an NVR if the features are there. will I find this one lacking in any areas? I ordered that one based on your recommendation. Thank you

Which NVR for single hikvision DS-2CD2342WD-I?

I'm only buying a single DS-2CD2342WD-I and need an NVR. I want to use a spare Android tablet as a 'monitor' of sorts at my bedside. I figure I could just use an ip cam viewer app constantly on with the tablet never going to sleep. I think this should work. I may eventually want to add 3 more...

Do HD analog cameras suffice, or should I go ip?

Thanks. Seems that this one is pretty unanimously liked https://www.amazon.com/Hikvision-DS-2CD2342FWD-I-Network-English-Version/dp/B01A6NN4ZI?th=1&psc=1&tag=ipctk-20 Some say it's dome, some say turret. Also don't know if that one big ir is as good as many small ones. Guess we'll see...

Do HD analog cameras suffice, or should I go ip?

Thank you. Any specific model numbers? I looked at the quick product guide and they have like 40 different cameras and no prices on the product guide

Do HD analog cameras suffice, or should I go ip?

Wow, that hikvision one is super affordable. I think I only need two cameras though. It's a small place and all our stuff is either in the front or back. I may just buy an NVR and grab the cameras separate. I see Costco usually offers two packs on cameras. I think that may be the ticket. Even if...

Do HD analog cameras suffice, or should I go ip?

Also want to add, I'm open to suggestions for a complete ip system. What am I looking for? I know I'll need an NVR, 4 Poe cameras and a Poe switch. Is that really all there is to setting up a system? Doesn't seem too bad. I'm leaning towards hikvision since many on this forum have good praises...

Do HD analog cameras suffice, or should I go ip?

http://m.costco.com/Lorex-8-Channel-HD-Analog-DVR-with-2TB-HDD,-8-1080p-Cameras-with-130'-Night-Vision.product.100218592.html That might be the same one we have in the warehouse. Not 100% though. That lists the cameras in megapixels, but I believe they're still analog.

Do HD analog cameras suffice, or should I go ip?

There's a lorex 8 cam system at Costco for $499. I'm pretty sure it's analog as well though. The only ip cams I've seen at Costco were the $2000 16 camera systems. Nothing under a grand. I'm happy to go up to $800 maybe more, but would like as close to plug and play as possible. Need one soon...

Do HD analog cameras suffice, or should I go ip?

There is a 4 camera night owl system at Costco for $300. The way I understand it is it's HD analog as opposed to the digital ip cams. On the box, it lists that it's 2mp equivalent. 4 cams should cover my whole property. I'm mainly worried about night vision. Obviously it's not going to do as...
