Any news of Hikvision 4K Turrets?

As to the original request... I recently purchased 3 x DS-2CD2385FWD-I, 1 x DS-2CD2185FWD-IS and a DS-7732NI-I4 NVR. I am also using BI, but bought the NVR because the load was getting too heavy for BI using the camera's primary streams. The camera's are listed as "ultra low light" models, and...

    Hikvision and logcurfile.bin

You may want to ask @CBX, he's more familiar with Hikvision firmware than anyone else I know on the board - and he's online now.

    Pixelation, Round Two

You can install the 32 bit version right alongside the 64 bit version - at least that is what the docs say...

    Hikvision and logcurfile.bin

I found it mentioned in a forum post on a Hikvison form (http://www.hikvision.msk.ru/forum/4-300-1)- but it's in Russian, I used chrome to translate it.

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

Thanks I'll take a look at it and I'll PM you the code change - wouldn't want to embarrass you. ;-) (there is no cool wink smiley).

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

Sure you can - post me the current code you are using to do the ajaxing (or should I just download the source of ui2? - in which case can you give me a link so I don't have to search for it - TY). :)

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

That sounds reasonable, a common problem when ajaxing in stuff without checking the return data before presenting it to the browser. There are several java techniques that can avoid this issue, type cast the expected return value is one of them, the other most obvious method would be to inspect...

Frustrated newbie wants to ditch Hikvision cam

You can do that without altering your internal network IP structure, a sophisticated firewall (not like the ones in a normal home router - you'd need a Routerboard or better) can do that easy enough if you want. We use ours to send people to the U.S. FBI website - hehe. They may think...

That last link IS awesome, you did it better than I could. Thank You. :D

Frustrated newbie wants to ditch Hikvision cam

Technically you can use any IP for your internal network, but you'd be a blithering idiot if you didn't use one in the IANA designated private IP address ranges.

    Field of View from Picture?

What iPhone and camera model are you using? I'm willing to do the math for you to translate the phone pic into the camera pic, but no guarantees on accuracy (have to cover my butt).

    Networking

Ya, that's what they all say - until it happens, best to stick with "best practices" when doing computer protection. No argument on the antivirus software on dedicated machines, as long as your firewall is strong you shouldn't have an issue. I do security protection work for one of the top...

    Networking

I would never exclude an entire folder - you open a place a virus can live in, instead just exclude the file types in that folder. That way if another type file gets into that folder it will be detected.

Frustrated newbie wants to ditch Hikvision cam

Don't forget the 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 IP range, many business use that.

    Networking

The general purpose advice that applies to all firewall and anti-virus/malware programs are: Firewall (both in your router AND on the computer your running BI on): 1. Exclude packet sniffing (if supported by your firewall) for the port(s) you are forwarding. 2. Exclude logging for BI traffic...

Can see the camera controls and even control the Cam but see no video remotely?

You don't have to be at work (a physical location away from your location), GRC scans from their location - you can do the scan now from home. :) If the camera firmware allows you to change the rtsp port...you'll have to look at the setting page - some cameras are fixed, in which case you would...

    Configuration Question Camera & BI

Are you using the 64 bit version of BI? You might want to try the 32bit version...My CPU usage just went up again on the latest x64 release of BI (4.0.1.8).

Can see the camera controls and even control the Cam but see no video remotely?

It could be your internet service provide blocks the standard rtsp port, what you need to do is scan your network from the outside and see if the port is truely available - here is a good tool for that https://www.grc.com/default.htm, select the "Shields Up!" link in the second box, then go thru...

    Configuration Question Camera & BI

Ya, I really didn't think that fully thru on the model change - for some reason I had it stuck in my head it was just a CPU change (and I should know better). I do still think tweaking your memory and bus timings (I also tweaked the intel video a bit - but that is very sensitive, didn't get much...

    Configuration Question Camera & BI

It does seem like quite a stretch, it could be he has a setting in the BIOS wrong making it worse, however, speeding up the memory bus has a way bigger impact than you think, and of course there is always the energy saving functions for the 4790 (including underclocking and overclocking itself...
  24. Zxel

    Configuration Question Camera & BI

LOL, (sorry couldn't help it), your problem is a simple one. Since you're running the 4790 at stock speeds (I'm assuming) and you were running the 920 OC'd the problem is one of system balance, and a good lesson on what affects the speed of a computer. When you OC'd your CPU you probably changed...

    Camera for our boat dock

Then I suggest you use a third party IP camera cloud service like https://www.angelcam.com/apps/cloud-recording or https://www.mangocam.com/. The camera streams to the service and your users connect to the service to view it - they don't directly connect to the camera. Just make sure if you do...

Can see the camera controls and even control the Cam but see no video remotely?

What model netgear router do you have? I've never heard of a router that doesn't have a firewall but does port forwarding (because port forwarding is technically a firewall function). I don't think your camera is the problem - if it works locally then you have a network issue, not a camera...

    Virtual COM Port

You can also make a loopback connector to test the port, and/or use a program like putty to test with (windows 7+ doesn't come with hyperterminal anymore). You should be able to use any terminal program to connect directly to the camera (all you are really looking for is any type of response)...

    Camera for our boat dock

Here is the wiki on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stunnel. A "tunnel" is just a private connnection from one device to another (usually computers - but it doesn't have to be) thru a public channel (like the internet). A VPN connection is a "tunnel" for example.
  29. Zxel

    Virtual COM Port

Try changing the port number from 1 to 3 or 4, even though you don't have a physical port on your computer many motherboards have it in their BIOS. I would also check your BIOS for any COM port *stuff* and turn it off to. I would also check the windows device manager too see what COM ports it...
