    SD59225U-HNI DH_SD-Eos_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000000.5.R.190827

Good call on defaulting the camera after the upgrade, seems to save changes now.

    SD59225U-HNI DH_SD-Eos_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000000.5.R.190827

I can't seem to save any changes under IVS Rule Config. Any time I make a change to anything and hit save, I get a small box at the bottom right that says "Please draw now.". Another question, in the past I upgraded both the system firmware and a separate the PTZ firmware. Andy, is there a...

BI-5 Remote Management? Anyone using it?

Interesting, that trace log I posted isn't reflecting the correct version as I have 5.0.2.5 x64 installed on both. The main BI, the one with the cameras and doing the recording is running as a service. My client side BI wasn't running as a service, (it didn't occur to me to set it that way)...

BI-5 Remote Management? Anyone using it?

An update... I bought the second BI license (I'm in Canada so discounted came to $50CA). I installed it onto a PC with an i7-3770K @ 3.5GGhz / 16GB RAM, solid state drive. So a capable machine for remote viewing I'd think. Remote BI connects to the main BI system OK, but eventually crashes...

    SD59225U-HNI DH_SD-Eos_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000000.5.R.190827

I'll chime in to say I upgraded my SD59230U-HNI with the "DH_SD-Eos_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.800.0000000.5.R.190827.bin" firmware. From this: To this: I don't see any problems with the new firmware in the ten minutes it's been running. I need to head to work, but I've re-enabled tracking and...

BI-5 Remote Management? Anyone using it?

I can easily imagine a configuration where you could connect from your WAN side. The application used (RDP, BI app, whatever) is arbitrary as long as you have connectivity into the home network, and your ISP speeds support the protocol being used. (Of course it goes without saying, NEVER forward...

BI-5 Remote Management? Anyone using it?

This might be obvious but RDP establishes a full desktop session with the remote system, and the second license allows you to interact with the remote BI service. The advantage of one over the other is likely more a matter of personal preference and situation. Personally I prefer a dedicated...

BI-5 Remote Management? Anyone using it?

Okay, thanks for detailed reply. I intend to grab the second license. Not to add new cameras to, but rather to change the confiurations of the cameras on the main BI system. To tinker with alert motion settings etc. Like you this is more about convenience, in my case the BI system is tucked away...

BI-5 Remote Management? Anyone using it?

In your opinion, how does it compare to UI3? I have been thinking about the second license myself, but more for the remote configuration.

    Blue Iris UI3

OK, thanks for the reply. I currently use RDP and to be honest it works fine. I might send the dev a request for a remote client, though I bet that's low on his priority list.

    Blue Iris UI3

I managed to upgrade to BI5 this morning. Thankfully with no issues. I pointed my browser to the v5 web UI and was hit with a complete appreciation for how sweet UI3 is. I forgot just how ancient the default UI is. Thanks once again for UI3!!! Is there any possibility of tapping into the new...

VPN and ASUS RT-AC68U .... Standard Firmware or DD-WRT or Tomato

I used to run a multi-homed Linux box with home grown netfilter scripts. It was as much a hobby as anything else. Then a few years back I got tired of it and switched over to Asus routers with the Merlin firmware and never looked back. Simple interface to get stuff done fast and easy, like the...

    PTZ or no PTZ

I bought the SD59-23OU-HNI ($610US at the time), and it's the one regret I have out of close to twenty cameras from Andy. As adamg stated, (the better choice?) is multiple cameras covering the area. Way cheaper and much better overall coverage. Rather than repeat my antidotes, you can take a...

    Which PTZ - best value

I have a SD5923OU-HNI, and speaking for myself it's been a major disappointment. Flashes black every time there's an alert for example. Andy said it's a "known issue", I'm still waiting on new firmware to hopefully fix it. The auto-tracking, well just good luck with that. My anecdotal experience...

Do you port forward to your BI machine?

Sometimes there is a need to forward ports, like my case I forward ports for SIP and RTP to an ATT. The service listening on the node could potentially be vulnerable. In my case, I mitigate this risk by only forwarding pkts from my voip provider src ip. (others are dropped silently) Am I at...

    Trigger groups

I have two cameras, one turret and one PTZ. When the turret is triggered, the PTZ goes from preset 1 to preset 2. This is working very nicely. My question is, is it possible to have that PTZ return to preset 1 after some specified period of time? [Edited for clarity]

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head and it's going to come down to contrast and settings. I already have the detection box set pretty small. I need to spend more time learning how different settings impact the capture. I am new to this stuff, so it's been a learning curve for sure. In the...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Just some more feedback on the camera in case anyone is interested. This is a video capturing a couple of Raccoons in my driveway. What's interesting is the first walks through the trigger zone, but the PTZ doesn't fire. The second one however does fire the tracking when he enters the zone, and...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

I might be off base here, but it feels like we're missing exposure to a hidden timer. That is, tracking time seems to depend on the objects movement while being tracked. It's been my experience if the object continues to move, then it will be tracked for the specified duration. If the object...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Here is a new issue I've observed, where the recorded video goes black. I would guess it's related to the outstanding recording blip bug I've already reported to @EMPIRETECANDY . I sure hope a firmware fix is in the works.

Dahua day/night switch utility - DahuaSunriseSunset

Thanks for this service, works great! Forgive me if it's in the thread and I missed it, but can anyone point me to some decent day/night profile settings?

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

My personal opinion after having one up for a decent time is that your likely better served with placing a couple HFW523IE's covering the area required. These PTZs are a great on paper, but reality has proven otherwise.
