it looks like synology also has the option for motion to come from the camera vs synology itself. in my case, the motion setting is set to 'camera settings' and i get motion triggers. however, i don't see anything for vehicle, human or face.

i bookmarked the video, but i don't have any plans to use a dahua NVR any time soon. i'm having too many issues with managing this camera via IE. maybe when the firmware is more friendly with chrome/firefox i may go back to this brand of camera.

i'm not sure what you are saying here, but it has nothing to do with streaming video over VPN or over a port forward. they are not related at all.

i'm not 100% sure, but i think the reason i updated to this version was to fix the constant call home issue this camera had. i think you could turn it of and it would turn itself back on after x amount of time.
