Am I wasting my time with Amcrest/Foscam?

My 2cents... A little more than a year ago I deployed more camera's than I really needed. 14 total. 4 Bullets, 9 Dome 1 4x optical PTZ Dome All are POE. All are set to 15fps. All are set to 1920 x 1080 (2MP/HD) except the PTZ is at 4MP. Recording to BI 24/7/365. All cameras are Amcrest. Not...

    Upside-down camera playback is crazy

Right click on the playback video and select 360 degree de-warp, and then select No. It looks like you inadvertently have Panoramic selected.

Some Fool Stealing A Package Off My Front Porch

Here's some pictures (stills from video) of some fool snagging a package off my front porch. It was just a $25 summer dress that my wife bought. I would have loved to have seen the look on his face when he opened the box. I hope if fits him. Caught in the act: The clearest screen capture of...

    NAS Drive

One more question... How do you hide the cloned cameras within the BI mobile app?
  9. S

    NAS Drive

OK, I got it working. I'm not really sure exactly what I did to make it work. I've got a cloned (in BI, and it's hidden) camera writing to a NAS device that isn't readily visible. If someone breaks in and steals my PC, I'll still have a recording of them doing it. Now if they cut the power...

    NAS Drive

So in: Blue Iris Option / Clips and Archiving / Folders I defined: Aux 1 as Z:\Blueiris\New (250Gb then move to Aux 2) and then defined Aux 2 as Z:\Blueiris\Stored For a particular cameras in its: Camera Properties / Record - I checked Video and set it to continuous, and set the Folder to Aux...

    NAS Drive

So, currently, I have my cameras recording to a secondary local hdd. Example: D:\Blueiris\New I was going to Clone and hide some cameras (as you suggested), and hopefully have them record to a networked NAS. Example: Z:\Blueiris\New I'm not seeing where you can specify different paths for...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Thanks for the quick response. Yeah, I can open the *.ovpn file with notepad. I can see the "Certificate". There's some text: ------BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- and then there's lines and lines of (not) random characters.... later there's a -----END CERTIFICATE----- followed by ------BEGIN PRIVATE...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

I was wondering if someone could offer some assistance... I got a new router, netgear nighthawk R7800 that has a built in OpenVPN server (?). Anyway, I have it setup and it works great with my Android Phone. The router generates an *.ovpn file that I copied to my Android phone. I imported that...

Same router here, but mine would not let me enable VPN unless I enabled DDNS first (and setup an account etc...).

    VPN Primer for Noobs

I just wanted to say thanks to you all here. Especially nayer and fenderman. I was port forwarding, and went to VPN... 1. Bought a router (Netgear R7800). 2. Setup No-IP account. 3. On the router, turned on DDNS (linked DDNS to ISP issued IP Address) 4. Again, on the router, enabled VPN. 5...

    Public Cams/Earth Cams

I wasn't asking where IS the help file. I was asking where IN the help file is the information about setting up Public Webcams or EarthCams. Thanks.

    Public Cams/Earth Cams

Care to say where in the help file, or what terms to search on? I searched on web cam and RTSP feed and didn't come up with anything related to viewing remote cams in BI.

    A couple of quick questions...

I thought of another question... And no one had any thoughts on my other question? OK here's my new question: So I know Blue Iris recommends storing video clips on the local drive. I have it set up that way. I also want to mirror what is saved there locally to a hidden networked NAS that I...

    A couple of quick questions...

When I'm Iooking at recorded clips, and I click the Next Alert / +30 Seconds button, I can momentarily see the time jump ahead, but then it reverts back to the time point that I was at prior to clicking... Anyone have any thought what's wrong here? On a PTZ camera, is there a way to set...
