    Blue Iris UI3

Also just checked all other browsers on mac and they all have the same issue. Safari allows H.264 to work but then errors saying the stream is unstable and should be switched to JPEG.

    Blue Iris UI3

Very true, mine is the last model before the release of the retina displays. Regardless, UI3 is still a great piece of work and it won’t stop me from using it daily. Great work! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

    Blue Iris UI3

Mine is a mid-2012 MacBook Pro so maybe the issue is related to the age and not the OS. Running the latest version of High Sierra with everything up to date. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Blue Iris UI3

I'm having this issue with the current version of Chrome on OSX. When I check the about UI page it states that H.264 is not available and I'm only able to view JPEG. I've tested HTML5 and get positive results for H.264, the problem only seems to be with UI3. Can't figure out what I'm missing...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Why the choice to use the NAS for VPN instead of the RPI? I’ve been using my Pi with PIVPN for a while with no problems but I’ve recently purchased a Synology NAS and am thinking of moving the VPN over.

    PoE Switch Suggestion List

That’s correct, one port will need to lead to your router/switch. Each port is capable of either POE or non-POE. Whichever you plug in is how it will respond. As most have said in earlier posts, buy a switch with the future in mind. I went with an 8 port and I’m already out of ports looking to...

BI updated and all Dahua's are now offline...

I’ve had an issue with ghosting and time lag with the recent update. Nothing else in the system changed. Running 4 Dahua’s all with updated firmware. When logging into the cameras directly everything is running smoothly. I’ve checked the memory leak and I’m still running the correct driver...

It's been a while but wanted to say the info on this forum couldn't be more on point. You both were right and I've gone from the original two cameras to replacing those and stepping up to 4 Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z. Just wanted to say thanks! Keep the good info coming...

    iOS Geofencing

How many out there are using the geofencing feature with iPhone? I’ve just started testing it out on the iPhone 8 but I’m curious what affect it will have on battery performance. Any experiences with it draining battery too quick?

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Another question, trying to wrap my head around this. I've got my server established on the PI, but how would BI be configured to enable only those on the network to view? EDIT: Disregard this I was able to find it on my own.

So if I create a vpn on a RPI I would then connect each device and this would allow for secured remote viewing through BI running on my desktop?
