Dahua Ultra Starlight Varifocal Bullet (IPC-HFW8232E-Z)

Quick question, have you looked at the HAC-HDBW2231F? I am considering this for my front entryway. I have a low overhang (eve) and a bullet would be a waste as it would have to be positioned too low to see what's coming. I know you don't like domes but this might be a good alternative just...

Dahua Ultra Starlight Varifocal Bullet (IPC-HFW8232E-Z)

I watched that earliers but it wasn't computing, haha The 1.9 is much better at capturing the light.

Dahua Ultra Starlight Varifocal Bullet (IPC-HFW8232E-Z)

Ok that makes sense. Is the 8232 so hot right now because it has a 1/1.9" CMOS? It's a older sensor but I am thinking it has a better picture than the 8231 which has a newer but smaller 1/2.8" CMOS I haven't seen them compared. It's interesting that the IPC-HFW8231E-Z is quite a bit cheaper...

Dahua Ultra Starlight Varifocal Bullet (IPC-HFW8232E-Z)

Nayr, Since you've evaluated the 8232, any thoughts on the DAHUA IPC-HFW8331E-Z5 3MP? I know you haven't tested it but any thoughts? I was trying to compare the 8232 with the 8231, which is newer but has a smaller sensor. As for the 3MP, I would like a little more detail during the day and...

Dahua Ultra Starlight Varifocal Bullet (IPC-HFW8232E-Z)

Interesting, I didn't know that, thank you! Yes, my neighborhood can get very dark and we don't live in the sticks. Are the 4MP versions better with resolution? How about IPC-HFW5431E-Z5 and IPC-HDW5431R-Z?

Dahua Ultra Starlight Varifocal Bullet (IPC-HFW8232E-Z)

Nayr, there is so many versions and wanted to ask you a question about the best low light performance. I need bullets and a dome for my home but I live in an area with no street lights and little ambient light, especially on moonless nights. Any experience you have with suggestions would be...

    Mixing Cameras & NVR Compatibility

Yes, four maybe five cameras at most. Milestone looks nice as well. $60 for blue iris is no big deal and if it offers better functionality it would be worth it.

Any recommendations on a place to purchase the Dahua?

    Mixing Cameras & NVR Compatibility

Perfect, thank you. The starlight looks fantastic. Does blue iris work more seamless than an NVR? The S/W features looks pretty good.

    Mixing Cameras & NVR Compatibility

Okay, would you suggest 2, 3 or 4 MP? Any suggestions on a compatible NVR or will any work? I'm new to this. Do you know what Backstreet uses? They won't tell me as it's rebranded of course, but they looked like decent specs.

    Mixing Cameras & NVR Compatibility

Hello Fenderman, I'm new to this site and saw your old post on this. Are the cameras Backstreet uses not any good? I was almost ready to pull the trigger. Of course now I see the Dahua 2MP 1/2.8" Starlight HDW5231R-Z. I really need a camera with good night vision as it gets black at night...
