    Opinions on Ubiquiti (Unifi) Cameras?

We also have a new entry-level G3-FLEX camera at $79. Does well in low light, especially considering the price point. IPVM just did a review of it. If you're using the cameras in standalone RTSP mode, they should be able to do 30fps, no problem. The framerate and bitrate are both user-adjustable.

Dahua vs Ubiquiti IR mode - Ubiquiti does not like LED light

The Dahua is switching to full black and white mode at night. They're throwing away any color information. The Ubiquiti camera is still allowing some color information to come through, though most of the frame is IR-illuminated. If you run the Ubiquiti image through a black-and-white filter...

    Opinions on Ubiquiti (Unifi) Cameras?

Great, that's good to hear. Let me know if you have any feedback on the camera hardware or performance.

    Opinions on Ubiquiti (Unifi) Cameras?

I just unboxed a camera and configured it to work with Blue Iris to confirm that this functionality works as intended. When adding the camera: Under "Address" you'll want to use the IP address of the camera, but don't include the port number or the stream path. Under "Path" change "/" to "/s0"...

    Opinions on Ubiquiti (Unifi) Cameras?

Like I said, I certainly wouldn't fault anyone for choosing other cameras with ONVIF for integration with a more complex system if that's your use case. There are plenty of options out there in that space already. I think you're looking at this from the wrong angle, though. We're not trying to...

    Opinions on Ubiquiti (Unifi) Cameras?

That's a suspiciously pointed attack on Ubiquiti as a company from a brand-new account that registered just to post this one statement. But in the interest of collecting feedback I will say that I have noted the feedback and we will take it into consideration. As I mentioned previously we...

    Opinions on Ubiquiti (Unifi) Cameras?

Thanks for the feedback, all. I'll continue to monitor this thread. NVR recording start/stop drift was fixed long ago. Android push notification rollout started earlier today. All Android users should have access to the feature by the end of the week.

    Opinions on Ubiquiti (Unifi) Cameras?

The Ubiquiti cameras don't support ONVIF, but we do have RTSP streaming. Many of our users use RTSP streaming from G3 cameras with 3rd-party software, including Blue Iris. The key is to switch the camera to "Standalone" mode instead of "UniFi Video" mode. The Synology station also supports RTSP...

    Opinions on Ubiquiti (Unifi) Cameras?

I'm all for honest feedback, but that's a bit hyperbolic given the multiple positive reviews above. We did indeed have some growing pains early on, but the changes you mentioned happening after you gave up on the system were made long before I joined Ubiquiti. I'm happy to help anyone who might...

    Opinions on Ubiquiti (Unifi) Cameras?

To clarify, these are 1080p and they will stream RTSP if you want. The 720p cameras were discontinued long ago. Our camera line will continue to grow in the near future. I was an IPCamTalk visitor long before I joined Ubiquiti. Much of what I've learned on these forums will continue to feed...

    POE inconsistency

Is this a US-8-150W? All 802.3af devices should power up automatically. 24V passive PoE can be manually enabled on a per-port basis. Have you tried swapping cables and ports?
