connecting remotely through a double NAT

The reason TeamView and LogMeIn work is that they all initiate the sharing from within the respective end-points. They call into a central server to establish the network sockets. In your case, who controls the first and second level of router/firewalls?

    BI > i7-3770 vs. i7-7700

Are there any OS limitations with hardware acceleration? I thought I saw fenderman post something but am not sure. Due to my BlueCherry Analog Capture card driver, I need to run Windows 7 32 bit.

Login error - "Overtime Login" ??

A possible reason for this is also that I am now seeing problems using the web interface simultaneously with both Amcrest cameras and Dahua cameras. I think the plug-in is getting borked and confused about the two camera types.

    BI > i7-3770 vs. i7-7700

There isn't a dedicated BI hardware forum so I'm going to be a little rude and hijack slightly. I was running and old i5-750 processor with 16gb that was limping along on 8 analog/bluecherry cameras with usual utilization in the 50% range and spikes to 90% when I try to TeamViewer log in. Need...

Login error - "Overtime Login" ??

I've seen this a few times as I have been setting up the cameras, updating the firmware and trying to set up BI4. What could "Overtime Login" possibly mean as a login error message?

    Stunnel with Trusted SSL?

Yes, You can download the nginx for windows and execute it directly from the downloaded folder structure. It isn't really even an app that gets installed. I'll PM you my instructions so you can try them out and let me know of any edits that need to be made.

    Stunnel with Trusted SSL?

I use free certificates from Let's Encrypt. The process of refreshing the certs is a bit annoying because I need to shut down stunnel and fire up nginx to create the certs then revert back to stunnel when I am done. Otherwise, no problems at all. If you want instructions for Let's Encrypt, I...

Things all settled in now. Thank you. Not sure what I did specifically to correct this but it is working now as expected.

    New installation advice

There's a reason companies are retiring these servers and giving them away for free :)

    Disk usage and clip settings

Bump... Anyone see anything wrong with the configuration? I'm only taking advantage of 10% of my available video clip storage and events are being deleted way too prematurely.

    Disk usage and clip settings

I can't seem to get this right. Any help would be appreciated. I have a 1tb d: disk for video storage but despite my attempts, I can not get clips to save as the desired pace. This is the 1tb d: disk My usage is always hanging around 10% to 25% Here is one reading from the UI followed by...

    Order cameras in window

    Thank you, that was it!

    Order cameras in window

Yes, exactly. Press-and-hold the left mouse button immediately goes into one-camera view for that camera.

    Order cameras in window

As soon as I click, it immediately goes into the detail one-camera view.

    Order cameras in window

Could someone please tell me how to order the cameras in the dashboard view? Thank you for your help. p.s. Before you get in my grill about searching the forum, I did and got either no or too many results.

Vpn and smtp & other features

I think most people only block inbound access. Outbound is normally allowed.

Too many incorrect login attempts - solved

Since I was using the ui2 with auto login, I forgot my password and was locked out when I went to a new machine. Even though I went into TeamViewer and reset my password to a new one, all of my web login attempts now are resulting in a white screen. Any ideas? I tried lowering the IP lockout...

    Dell XPS Skylake i7 PC w/ 16GB RAM, 2GB GPU $690

Off topic but... I wish the previously suggested sticky thread with latest deals was implemented. I know there are some common sources for the HP and Dell "standard" systems but can't find the threads.

    DAHUA RECORDERS HACKED

I complete disagree with this victim blaming. If the manufacturer ships insecure software it is their fault and only their fault.

    Remote access static ip

What @molimelight is suggesting will allow you to do that. Rather than mess with your router for DDNS settings, you can use a client app on your BI computer or any other computer on your network to keep your domain name updated with the current address. Then just use your domain name rather...

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

I'm not the person to whom you replied but I can tell you that you can use Let's Encrypt certificates with stunnel but you need to generate your certificates using either 1) another web server such as nginx where you can post the challenge key in a known location (you can't do this with the BI...

BI HTTPS with Nginx Reverse Proxy

Do you run it 24x7 and automate the renewals? In my case, I need to manually turn off the stunnel, start the nginx and manually run through the powershell scripts to refresh the certs. The get back to normal ops by shutting down the nginx and restarting the stunnel. My machine isn't...

BI HTTPS with Nginx Reverse Proxy

I've been playing with comparing nginx and stunnel and in my scenario, nginx is much more flexible but performance is much worse than with stunnel. Connections to stunnel respond back within a couple of seconds. Nginx sometimes takes 10s of seconds to connect. I have them both set as windows...

    Analog Camera Card

I use a BlueCherry card but am dissapointed in its support for Windows. The company only really supports Linux and Win drivers only work with Win7 32bit. They are expensive too. Cameras are cheap, but the card is $$$ and support sucks.

    Blue Iris Web Server Type

By the way, I don't think the thread title was ever answered... I think that BI uses some type of custom home grown web server that is neither nginx, Apache/Tomcat nor IIS.

    Blue Iris Web Server Type

Securing your http connection with https prevents anyone from snooping your current connection. It doesn't prevent anyone from making the same connection. Using VPN along with proper network configuration basically walls off your home network so only authorized users can get into the network...
