Since my Laview NVR has 16 alarm input channels (NO/NC) capabilities, I started designing and building a system (on the fly) that utilizes wireless door and window reed switches, wired PIR/Microwave outdoor motion sensors, and wired doorbell detection. I gather the wireless signals with a...
Thank you for replying.
I spent a good deal of time with Laview on the phone to try to figure out why the alarm notifications on the app (IOS) was not working. Eventually they suggested that I send my NVR to them to look at. Since I had just experienced two acts of vandalism on my property...
My advice is to get real motion sensors. Does your NVR has alarm inputs for external devices? The motion detention on my LaView POE system is horrible.
I have made progress. But am once again at the end of my rope.
The IP search tool that came with the came is hopeless. I even tried to run it in XP and Windows 7. It will not detect anything and the GUI looks nothing like the one in the tiny instruction booklet.
Using a tool called "IP Search...
I was able to connect to the camera when it was connected to my router. I did this with another IPC search tool that I found online since the one provided will not work with windows 10. Unfortunately I needed the admin password. I don't know it. I tried the usual suspects. I wrote to the...
What IP address do I assign to the camera? The NVR address that is open to a router port?
If the firmware for the camera? If so, will the camera interface likely provide firmware install instructions?
Thanks so much!
It took me a while to realize that the POE camera was not going to work (power up the camera) while plugged into my router. I found a 12VDC power supply and plugged it into the camera while the Ethernet connection was still plugged into the router. Using the handy discovery app provided with...
I recently, and now think regrettably, purchased an ONVIF 2.4 POE camera for my LV-N9916C6E NVR system. My system currently has 8 Laview cameras connected. From what I understand the ONVIF 2.4 POE camera has an assigned IP address that needs to be changed. I have followed the instructions...

I use a relay to turn the signals to my dvr on and off. I control the power to the relay with a wemo device. I would like a timer circuit that I can delay signal to the relay by two minutes. So I can leave The house before arming. Then, no delay on power off. Any ideas?
I would love to be able to edit my Laview system recorded video. I can only play it back through their player. Anyone have any experience getting a coded for Laview video?
Thank for the tips on the multi devices per channel. This is something that I have thought about for a while. Looks pretty straightforward the way that you have explained it.
I have only had the NVR system a short time and have not ventured into alarm scheduling. I think eventually I will...
I have a LaView 16 channel POE system that also has 16 nc/no alarm external inputs. Since the alarm settings on the cameras are unrealiable I have used all my 16 alarm inputs for some IR and MIcrowave motion detectors. I also use a quickbridge wireless system to gather reed switches for doors...
I have a NVR with 16 POE cameras and 16 external alarm inputs. I'm looking for a device that only takes NC/NO inputs and has the ability to send emails when any single channel is in alarm. Would also like it to have some sort of alarm output for a buzzer or horn. Any ideas?
Aside from having 16 camera inputs, my NVR system has 16 alarm inputs for things like sensors and reed switches. Unfortunately I can only remotely turn on and off the alarms for the camera and not the other 16 alarm inputs. I would like to be able to remotely control (via an app on my Iphone)...
I've tried everything. I can't get it to work. I replaced it with an Interlogix wireless. I will hard wire the Bosch up to the NVR and use at another location on my home. Thanks for all your efforts.
My NVR system emails alarm notifications. I use Gmail and currently have all my emails forwarded to my Iphone via text. This is a bit annoying since I get a lot of texts for garbage email and the sort. But, I do get all my NVR alarms. I would like to be able to have Gmail forward only the NVR...
Tangent. Thank you so much. Sorry for my laziness in not doing a thorough search. I found the posts by @nayr. Aside from a little confusion with the wiring, I was able to get this to work.
I have a 16volt DC door bell system with two buttons. One on the front door and one on the back. I would like to wire these into the alram inputs of my NVR so that I get an email when someone rings the door bell(s). Any thoughts on this? I was looking at the ELK 930. I would love some advice...
I am using NC 7&8. I connected the 4.7kohm resistor. Before connecting to the wireless sensor I measure 4.6 Kohm across the two wires when the motion sensor is not tripped.
Then, once I connect the wires to the sensor I measure 2.4kohm across the two terminals on the sensor.
I have tested...
I am trying to connect a Bosch PD850 motion sensor to a 319.5 MHz crystal max life remote receiver. The remote receiver send a signal to my quick bridge reciever.
I've pulled the jumper switch on the remote receiver so that I can wire in the NO input instead of using the built in reed...
