    motion detection stopped working

The Video Detection may not be relevant. I have another Dahua camera that is working fine and Motion Detection is not enabled in the camera software. Still looking for answers.

    motion detection stopped working

I've got a Dahua IPC-HFW4231SP that the motion detection suddenly stopped working. At first I thought it to be a Blue Iris setting but then discovered it was the camera settings. I found that in Event->Video Detection->Period, it was only set to work on Sunday. So it was only working one day of...

    What UPS

I agree you're going to get a lot of heat loss in the step down / step up but what's the alternative to power a 12v device in a power outage?

    camera setting for powerline ethernet

Yes I know I shouldn't be using powerline ethernet but for a few of my cameras, I have no choice. I've fought with this for months, relocating the powerline modules to make sure they're on the same phase and trying to eliminate noise and interference. Most of my cameras I run at 15 fps but the...

fps in server status of UI3

Found it. I thought you were talking about the gear icon in UI3. In BI5 there's a gear icon next to All Cameras. Thanks!

fps in server status of UI3

After playing around with this a bit, it looks like you have to select a single camera for fps to be meaningful. The single camera views are accurate. The all camera view is when it drops down to 5-6 fps. Maybe because it displaying all feeds?

fps in server status of UI3

I'm running 7 cameras in BI 5 and they're all set to 15 fps. I can confirm this rate by looking at the mobile app. My server status in UI3 typically shows about 5-6 fps. Is this normal and is it adjustable?

Profile temp time vs "until triggered"

I'm using geo fencing on my phone to trigger a custom profile when I leave the house. The problem is that it switches back to normal after whatever I have set as temp time. There is a box labeled "until triggered." If that's checked, would that keep the profile turned on until I return home? I...

Severe flaw in WPA2 protocol announced

If you're using a VPN, that does help secure your overall network but it doesn't address the wifi issue. While it's not recommended that you use wifi cameras from a reliability standpoint, there are some situations where wifi is necessary. The problem is that an unpatched wifi camera is...

Severe flaw in WPA2 protocol announced

I run Ubiquity wifi at home. They released a patch yesterday which I installed right away. What I worry about as it relates to this forum is the camera firmware. I just checked the Amcrest forum and they don't seem like they are taking it seriously. Can't seem to find out anything on Dahua. I...

    BI best practices

I'd like to see #3 addressed also. I run BI as a service also and I see that the admin console launches a second process. I have the CPU resources to do that but just wondering what is recommended. My main concern is having BI available on a reboot after a power outage. BTW a 2960 for all this...

    Record to network share

I see this is an old thread but I see this issue asked over and over again and I think it needs to be spelled out a little more clearly. When running Blue Iris as a Windows Service and recording to a NAS device don't use the Local System account! Here is what worked for me: 1. Create a local...

    Hello from Washington

I've been using Foscam for a couple of years now and found their software frustrating. I wrote my own web UI that would take of snapshot from each camera every second to make it look like a live stream yet still keep some security. After having one of the Foscams die, I bought an Amcrest. Much...
