2024 EmpireTech Active Deterrence PTZ Camera Release

I saw the lower-end SDT4E425-4F-GB-A-PV1 selling for a similar price to the 2 models listed here. So, it looks like it could be a good alternative to them, if Andy got it in.

I can answer that, as that is how I buy from him. The answer is yes.

    EmpireTech 8th Anniverasay Sales July.18th-23rd

Thanks Andy, didn't expect the email about my 5th place camera prize. Thought I hadn't won anything when I saw the winners on here earlier, so that was a nice surprise. Congratulations to all the other winners too!

laggy when trying to playback/scrub video

Yes, all drives are local (5 cams as per my first post above). It happens whether any of the cams are currently writing or not. As above, my CPU usage is low (have plenty of spare RAM), and I have checked background activity on the HDD's (as I have a 20 second record buffer on them all), it is...

laggy when trying to playback/scrub video

I listed my HDD's in my first post above, all the new footage is written to an SSD before being moved to the storage drives, and yes I am aware of the issues with SMR, neither of my 2 WD drives are SMR. It doesn't matter which drive the footage is on, if NVDEC isn't turned on it stutters. I...

laggy when trying to playback/scrub video

I had only looked at it very briefly on one cam, so I went back now to see what difference it would make by turning it on for all my cams - bar my PTZ which doesn't have the option. It made it so the video would mostly play back ok (slight hitching), but scrubbing through video it is still...

laggy when trying to playback/scrub video

I have a similar issue related to hardware acceleration. On my current system (connected to a 4k monitor) I have no problem scrubbing through video very smoothly with NVDEC on the 1080Ti in my gaming PC. I have been trying out DirectX and Direct3D11 though after upgrading from BI 4 to 5.5 for...

    Great looking site

I have only accumulated 7 so far, haven't turned into Parley yet... that IPC-Color4K-X is looking mighty tempting though

Review: Dahua SD5A425XA-HNR 4MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ

I spotted it on the 20th of April under new products, and asked Alex if he was able to price it yet. It is about 1/3 of the cost of your 4/3" beast.

Yeah, it is 1/1.8". Model is SD5A825-HNR-YA

Review: Dahua SD5A425XA-HNR 4MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ

Nice work as always Wildcat. Keen to see how it handles forced colour. Will also be interested to see how the new 8MP variant of this compares when someone gets one.

    SD5A425XA-HNR

Andy said to me about a month ago he would get Wildcat here to test it when he gets one in. He has a SD6AL445XA-HNR-IR 4MP 45x listed now, though that is 1/2.8", so I doubt anyone here who already has a 1/1.8" cam will want it :D

Review- OEM IPC-T2831T-ZS 4k varifocal starlight turret & PFB203W Wall Bracket.

That is what I was hoping for, and being my country is now 4 days into a minimum 28 day lockdown, I guess I afford to wait and see now. Would be nice to have a 4k model that can stay in full colour all night like the 5442 manages to off the LED street light outside my house.

Review- OEM IPC-T2831T-ZS 4k varifocal starlight turret & PFB203W Wall Bracket.

I bought a 5442 from him as well a couple of weeks ago and wanted one of these in addition to it and he said he wouldn't have stock till next month.

Does this new WizSense model have better minimum illumination at 0.003 Lux @ F1.0 despite being 1/2.7” ?

    Camera for sky activity?

Andy on here sells it for around $500USD. It is the cheapest of those type of positional cameras that can look straight up. The commercial pro versions are much more expensive.

    SUNBA 1080P HD, PoE+, 20X - 601-D20X

I have it now, the forced colour mode at night is way better. I do have however have an issue with the frame rate not going above 20FPS and this module has an extra wire on it that the other one didn't have, I need to contact them about it, but haven't managed to get around to it yet.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HFW5831E-ZE 8MP 4K Bullet.

Hmm, well I'd expect that to handle it better than that, then again my previous phone with its Chinese 10 core CPU (which is still quite a bit more powerful than that particular Snapdragon CPU) and 4GB of RAM didn't like that camera on my WIFI either and wouldn't play clips back smoothly *shrug*

    Review-Dahua IPC-HFW5831E-ZE 8MP 4K Bullet.

Ah, well if your old phone only has a couple of gigs of RAM or less that could be the problem. It could also just be the CPU isn't up to it, given the high utilisation you are seeing, but that could also be a side effect of the OS having kittens over the lack of RAM.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HFW5831E-ZE 8MP 4K Bullet.

I have no problems with mine on 1024 Kbps, but then again the upload speed on my fibre connection is 550 times faster than that and my phone has the fastest CPU currently available with 6GB of RAM, so I'd be shocked if it did :winktongue: On the phone it uses ~4-12% CPU and up to 1.45GB of RAM.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HFW5831E-ZE 8MP 4K Bullet.

I have had this camera since the start of the year. It isn't usable in low-light at night in forced colour mode, unlike my 2MP Starlight. Its IR is however decently powerful. I have a 1080p H265 PTZ in addition to this running in BI. I have an 8 core -16 thread AMD 2700x and it sits around...

    SUNBA 1080P HD, PoE+, 20X - 601-D20X

No worries. I am waiting for them to send it still, due to the super typhoon that rolled through there earlier in the week they haven't been able to send it yet. They have this work in progress camera coming out next year by the way:

    SUNBA 1080P HD, PoE+, 20X - 601-D20X

Noted. I get your point. I wouldn't advise someone to buy the new version of the complete camera over say a Dahua model either. This has however served me well over the last 2.5 years during the day and has had no mechanical problems, so it is worth the comparatively small amount of money to...

    SUNBA 1080P HD, PoE+, 20X - 601-D20X

I know you don't like them, but the daytime image on this is actually decent and holds up surprisingly well against my 8MP Dahua camera. It is just garbage at night. This is also a much cheaper fix than buying a whole new Dahua PTZ to replace it. No need to throw the baby out with the bath...

    SUNBA 1080P HD, PoE+, 20X - 601-D20X

So I noticed they have finally re-released the firmware with the exposure fix, so I gave it a try and whilst it did help somewhat with that, it ruined the forced colour mode completely. I also noticed that they have now released the H.265 upgraded version that has STARVIS. I contacted their...

    Small form factor Starlight?

Okay, thanks. I guess the other reason to go with this form factor is that they are more overt, if you want the added physical deterrence - I mean there must be a reason why they are still making this form factor.

    Small form factor Starlight?

Okay, so just to double check, I've gone and taken a photo of it. Now I only installed this a few months ago, so I am not going to be replacing it anytime soon, but it would be good to know if an eyeball camera can do the same thing for future reference when I do replace it. The glare off the...
