In Camera Settings > Video Uncheck the "Enable overlays" (Or, if there are overlays you want, click on edit and delete just the time stamp overlay)

Right-click on the cameras and make sure that Drag lock is not enabled.

Not sure about the Smartthings and Sonos, but you can have the BI app alert with a different sound for different cameras by configuring in the camera's alert properties tab. You can also have the alert run a script that you could then integrate into your system to play the file.

If you're streaming from BI, you'll need to change the streaming profile. (Options-->Web Server-->Advanced...-->Configure...). Try a reduced bit rate and/or output frame size.

Reducing the streaming resolution can also help prevent a delay if the receiving hardware can't keep up with the stream in real-time.

Also, be sure to exempt the Blueiris.exe and folders from any antivirus software. Antivirus programs (including Windows Defender/Firewall) can really slow it down and/or disrupt the traffic as it scans the streams.

Sounds like your security software is inspecting the stream and slowing it down. Do you have Bit Defender?

I think you will run into more headaches with the laptop processor and storage options before the 10/100 port becomes an issue.

Changing the encoding to h264 reduced the CPU power required to decode in BI. Also, your processor wasn't able to use hardware acceleration to the decode the H265 because of its age. So by switching to H264 and turning on the intel Quicksync, you reduced the bottle neck that you had before that...

Try switching the cameras to H264. H265 requires more processing power (roughly 2x more) to decode and can cause the choppiness. I don't think your CPU can use Quicksync with H265 either, but it may work with H264.
