Sentry Person and loitering recognition, Vehicle detection & identification, + Price increase

Interesting! I've never heard of Amazon Rekognition. Amazon Rekognition – Pricing - AWS First 1 million images processed per month $0.001 per image. I wonder if Sentry simply uses their backbone.

Found some Peephole IP camera. Have anyone tried these?

Exactly! That's what I was typing when you posted it. I always read reviews and ignore the star rating. Even on Amazon that allows changing the rating I often see five star reviews that describe a problem and the other way around.

Found some Peephole IP camera. Have anyone tried these?

My point is that we should never trust reviews anywhere. Period. Be it Ali, Amazon etc. Only by reading reviews I can see which is most likely real and which is not. I never look at the review score like you did. That the worst metrics. So, I don't see why you singled out Ali while eBay and...

That actually proves that there are some real reviews, otherwise it would have been deleted.

Found some Peephole IP camera. Have anyone tried these?

Of course there is fraud everywhere. Do you believe Amazon reviews? It doesn't look like it. So, Ali is not that much more different. I bought a few items from Ali after careful consideration. They all were as expected. I bought many items from Amazon. The same. I don't get your point. Ali is...

Found some Peephole IP camera. Have anyone tried these?

Uncheck "Translate to English" on the review page. The reviews are not in English, some of them are. The rest is automatically translated. You don't seem to be very familiar with Ali. Most if not all sellers are Chinese. How do they post reviews in other perfectly spoken (written) languages...

Found some Peephole IP camera. Have anyone tried these?

That's not true. Reviews can be posted only by buyers. And if you spoke other languages you would see the proof immediately. I can't imagine that those people who run Ali can speak so many languages in modern idiomatic ways. P.S. Uncheck "Translate to English" on the review page.

    Blue Iris , Power Outage

How are you going to power it? It will need power on both sites. Your idea goes against your complaint about the requirement of a remote power supply. You can't transfer power over optics. If it's not an issue, there are switches with optical ports + Ethernet.

5.2.6 - April 22, 2020 - You can now skip updates until changes have been validated as stable by those on the more-frequent update track

The picture in the first post shows that the 5.2.5.10 is considered to be the latest stable update.

Blue Iris Updates - Official Thread

Did you check if BI is taking up all the CPU? I remember reading multiple reports over the years that BI was "leaking" memory, increasing CPU usage, GPU usage etc. and the resolution was to turn off special modes of video encoding in cameras, such as what you mentioned - h264+ and h265+. Looks...

    Blue Iris , Power Outage

I never had a need for this kind of setup, so my response was "theoretical" but that's how I would have done this. Yes, you would need at least a POE injector at the remote location (and better a UPS and a surge protector) but that's a given because you either transfer signal via optics but no...

    Blue Iris , Power Outage

Not that expensive. Two of these https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Ethernet-Converter-Supporting-MC220L/dp/B003AVRLZI USD$35 each and a fiber optic cable https://www.amazon.com/Meter-Multimode-Duplex-Fiber-Optic/dp/B0055177G4 about USD$25. It may be more expensive in Sweden...

I haven't tried it myself but I remember reading in the other thread that the usual way won't work. You would need to use TFTP.

    Hardware acceleration and GPU question

Your Task Manager is missing the GPU tab. In my case it is the last in the list, after Ethernet. I don't know what to say as it should be there to check whether any video decoding is happening.

How To Upgrade Amcrest / Lorex to Dahua Firmware And Get All Dahua Features

Did you gain anything by updating the firmware to Dahua's? I know you get extra features like IVS etc. but if you are using BI are they useful? I am in doubt that updating the firmware to Dahua's brings anything strictly for BI usage.

How To Upgrade Amcrest / Lorex to Dahua Firmware And Get All Dahua Features

This is what I get from the DNSBL, the link you provided: DNSBL check page "This IP was flagged due to misconfiguration of the e-mail service or the suspicion that there is no MTA at it." It has nothing to do with Trojans. Your software misinterprets the DNSBL listing. Moreover, dahuawiki.com...

Surprised so many people are OK with WPA2-PSK

Not true. Unfortunately, they have the same poor reliability as 2.4 GHz WiFi, not the same as hardwired. Because they use the same principle as WiFi, over a different media.

Blue Iris Extended Support Auto Renewal

I went to the link you provided. I did it out of curiosity. I didn't care because I had already cancelled my PayPal automatic payments. I don't remember different options subscribe vs. one time payment. Because there was a confusing change on how to upgrade BI to v5 I followed what was...

As @miles267 and I wrote it didn't take two seconds. The password I reset to didn't work. As nothing else was left to try I tried to log in with the order number and not my email address and it worked (with the reset password). Sorry, your experience was different from ours. This info is for...

Blue Iris Extended Support Auto Renewal

I just had the same problem. I was able to login when I used the order number instead of the email, and the password I just reset. It is designed not to let you in, borderline illegal probably. I my case, I cancelled PayPal autopayments for this, so this MyCommerce cancellation was not...
