wrybread, I wonder if you could answer a question I have on the SD49225 camera. I just installed an SD card in my camera but it doesn't feel right. It slides in easy enough but shouldn't it 'lock in' some how? Mine pushes in and then slides back out an eighth of an inch or so. Was yours like...

The directions that came with the camera direct me to make the settings I listed for either Analog Speed Dome or HDCVI Speed Dome. This is why I'm asking.

You are probably correct. Thanks for your input.

Then it's an 'Analog Speed Dome' ?

I have an 'Injector' for power. The camera does come on after a moment or two, then it cycles, as in, it pans back and forth, then it tilts up and down, then (I'm assuming by the sounds it makes) it zooms in and out, and then it turns head to the wall and hangs it in shame.

That is correct. They refuse to read the dvd. I tried downloading the 'Config Toolbox' like Tinman suggested but evidently my Mac won't support it. "You can't open the application "General Toolbox xxx" because Microsoft Windows Applications are not supported by OS X". I also downloaded...

Thanks. This was pretty much what I was looking for. After a good nights sleep I came up with the idea to temporarily set up the camera upstairs so I can play around with it before I attempt to install it outside. I was attempting to study the software from the supplied dvd but that went nowhere.

I have not connected the camera to anything. I am trying to figure out what to do next. This all started out so straight forward and quickly became overwhelming.

Let me just say that the more I read and research, the less I understand. I have pages of notes and pages of Anagrams trying to figure out what is what. I know I have a very unique situation but I'm hopeful that someone can help me out.

No, I have not. I am swimming in information that I don't understand.

At this point I just want to know who is in my driveway.

At this point, I have no idea. I thought I was a reasonably intelligent and 'with it' guy but the more I research and read the dumber I become. At this point I wish I had bought a Sam' Club system.

I've got a Macbook Pro and a HP Pavillion, I put the software dvd into either one and they both just spit it out. I'm assuming I need to plug in the camera also or what?

Andy IS the man. I don't know how he did it but my camera came today. 3 days from Hong Kong! Thanks Andy.

    Obviously over my head

I will be going by the 568B standard. I'm too anal to do it any other way. I understand the importance of a 'standard'. Thank you all for your input.

I said "as long as they are the same on both sides". So yeah.

    Obviously over my head

Thanks for the reply Mr D. Now that I sit and think about it, I guess the wires don't care which way they are arranged in the connector as long as they are the same on both ends. And ,yes, a NVR is on my list. Just a matter of which one...of many. I also think I'll need the cable company to...

    Obviously over my head

Okay, so I bought the camera I wanted not the one I needed. I have a very unique situation, I live in a subterranean home with a dome on top of the octagon concrete structure. I have a large garage that is a hundred feet or so from the subterranean structure and close to the road in front of...

A Question or Two re SD49225T

So, I'm all in on this camera; SD49225T-HN, (and if this is the wrong place for this question please advise me) but I have a few questions. In every picture of it I've seen there is no 'mount' and there are bear wires hanging out of the cable end. What's up with that? I believe the wires are for...

New guy here. Just call me Artie. Been wanting a camera system for a while...trying to learn as much as this old brain can soak up. Lots of good info here. I've zeroed in a a couple of cameras I would like to purchase and I would like to buy them direct from overseas but I find that part...
