    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

I use BI, with respect to how I use it, I think its a great product. I'm not sure I'll pay for updates. But if someone doesn't like the change, it should be ok to complain about it and not be feed a poorly crafted/missleading sales pitch.

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

Fendrman, it obvious your experienced and very good at tech support. Your salesmanship is lacking, though you do double talk on nontechnical things, but its poorly done.
  7. M

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

Fenderman, stick to technical support, your marketing and sales skills are doing BI a disservice. On the other hand you are funny in an odd way.

It is easy to predict that more changes (charges) will happen.

wcrowder, No reason to get your blood pressure up, its not worth it. I hope people take note on how fenderman, who is an administrator, thanks you for the post above, not very administratorish. Many times Fenderman bragged that BI only costs 60 bucks and updates were free. Its a big...

Looking for a good BI 101 intro \ overview

You need to embrace Windows and have some skill with it or BI will be very painful to get going. Learning curve is not small but is manageable if you're will to get hands dirty, but If you want simple, get NVR. If you do purchase BI and don't like it you can use it as backup for NVR, but NVR...

New Member - Got my Cameras and now onto Home Security~!

That I think means more than one camera, just like homes usually have more than one motion sensor and more than one door sensor. How many cameras are needed?

Where is the recommended camera(s) placement, are they triggered to start recording off alarm system. I thought only the Kardashians liked having recording their interior actions.

Some info on Quick sync 1) came out in 2011, works on sandy, ivy, haswell, broadwell and Skylake (I think too) 2) Its a dedicated hardware core on the processor dye, it doesn't use the CPU at all. 3) Slight quality loss vs applications that use the CPU 4) Speed is prioritized over...

Question about features of Blue Iris

I would suggest he get a small cheap BI PC and then the BI APP, set BI to record 24/7. Help him set up aggressive alerts and how to view via app, also set up email storage of alerts to an email account..

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

The new fees are low, but it is a dramatic change in policy no mater what is said (Fenderman spin). It is easy to predict this will not be the last change.
  17. M

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

Fenderman, Don't try to spin it, there are extra cost for many folks who want to continue to use BI the way they have for several years. So they are told. 1) Use BI differently, basically don't update over the next year and there is no extra cost. 2) Continue to use BI the way you've done...

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

You guys have an audience, its kind of stupid keep trying to spin an extra expense. Cut the spin, the added cost may offend folks, I'm sure its not going to break their bank.
  19. M

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

ok lets see you have probably over 100 posts which indicate BI is cheap, many updates and no annual costs. Now there are many people who visit this forum and they know what you preach so amuse us.

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

Things are changing, you probably have at least 50 posts bragging about how there is no annual fee. So be careful with your spin, it might not spin well. For me its no problem.

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

except for BP, I don't understand the complaining, you get 3 months to find something stable. I am wondering if the apple push notifications will need yearly updates though???
  22. M

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

What if you cooridinated with BI developer, basically together you would be able to define a stable version which BI would also bless as stable. And that is the version you build your tool off of. Because of my limited experience (2 basic systems) I admit I don't comprehend the big picture...

    DS-20322WD-i 2MP Exir turret

So you like normal 2MP vs 120db version, could you summarize your experience on this, greatly appreciated.
  24. M

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

Should make you stuff easier, when you have a very stable version that works with your tool, save it and share it with users of your tool. Maybe you only need to have a few versions saved per year, making debug easy.
  25. M

    Blue Iris Annual Fee?

Basically if your system is stable, then you don't need to pay for support. That's sounds fair to me.

    Alarm and security camera system

I agree that two separate systems is better as they do two different things. Alarm system - This offers immediate protection/warning of a possible intrusion Securty Camera - This offers detailed knowledge of events happening or that happened in and around you place. This doesn't mean they...
