    Dahua NVR5216-8P-4KS2E Firmware

I would suggest going to the Dahua international website. They have all the firmware there https://www.dahuasecurity.com/support/downloadCenter/firmware?child=171

How to best set IP camera encoding parameters to be compatible with NVR recording parameters?

My issue with the setup is that it’s easy to see those parameters on the NVR interface, but when I try to set things directly on the cameras, most often the internet explorer requires a plugin that doesn’t load, so I cannot see the image on that webpage. Kind of makes it hard to set up motion...

    NVR with 2 HDMI out?

That is gonna be as expensive as a small car- but you may be right, that in order to get 2 hdmis that display different things, you gotta spend a lot of cash. The guy is gonna have to do some research. My guess is over 1500 for what you posted.

    NVR with 2 HDMI out?

Email him (Andy). He can get you virtually anything Dahua makes, even the very most expensive items. He just doesn’t list them because of the limited market for those types of items. When I bought my NVR from him, there were two models I wanted a price on. One was over $600, so I went with the...

Why the retreat from 1/1.8" sensors in the latest Dahua bullet cameras?

Great quality either way. Wish mine looked as good at night.

Does anyone have experience with the new Amcrest NV4216-AI?

Here is my take, now I wish I had a do-over because I have the 5216. I would have gotten an even better unit. The real question is incoming bandwidth. The 5216 is 320, which means you can view 16 channels at 2mp at 30fps. Seems like a lot. Right? But not really. If you have 8mp cameras, that’s...

This is funny because every tree cam I have is pointed away from my house toward the street, not towards it. Interesting

    Dahua NVR5216-16P-4KSE MD Problem

What does “redundancy “ do? And the 1800? See? The manual is awful and doesn’t properly explain these things

    Dahua NVR5216-16P-4KSE MD Problem

I’m glad that works for you. I installed my office cctv system years ago when storage was very expensive. The system has a 500 gig hdd which was big for its time. I record only motion detect, and get maybe a week of recording before the events get recorded over. Unfortunately I’ve missed some...

    Dahua NVR5216-16P-4KSE MD Problem

Definitely play around with it. Try an older version of internet explorer, and old pc, a new pc, an old laptop etc. the best computer on my network for making changes to the cameras directly, it turns out, was an old dell with a 60gig hdd running xp. I installed windows 7 , 32 bit from an old...

    Dahua NVR5216-16P-4KSE MD Problem

Thanks. I should have asked long ago. I’ve got the main and sub stream both recording 24/7. Time to change the sub stream. If I go into the individual camera interface, I can set stuff like IVS, but I can also set that stuff in the NVR interface. One has to take precedence over the other...

    Dahua NVR5216-16P-4KSE MD Problem

Well i cannot get to individual camera setup through the machine interface, but i can on the web interface- however, it seems "slower". Why set the substream to manual? Just curious. I changed the main stream to auto and that seemed to work, so thank you. What is the sub stream, anyway? (Other...

    Dahua NVR5216-16P-4KSE MD Problem

I wish that worked for me. I too have this NVR. I record 24/7 and also set up motion detect and IVS. The NVR only seems to capture the 24/7. On some cams, the sub stream captures the ivs, but not motion. It’s frustrating and the 300+ page manual is clearly written by someone where English is...

Direct camera adjustment impossible with dahua nvr?

it should work. Somebody was nice enough to point that out to me a couple of weeks ago so I figured I would return the favor to somebody else. My problem is I would like to do everything from the NVR and not have to access a computer and so far nobody has replied with any sort of information so...

Direct camera adjustment impossible with dahua nvr?

Well you dont have to necessarily disconnect the cameras from the NVR if you log in with another computer on the same network. Simply put in the NVR ip address, go to the setup tab, and the cameras are located on the bottom half of the page. Next to each camera there is its name, and the ability...

wondering about how to setup my ip cam to record to my own cloud

Are you looking to access the camera remotely? I think you are looking at getting a dynamic dns if you don’t have a static ip, and port forwarding to that server. Really depends on what you want to do. There are free Dropbox accounts, or you can pay for something like netdrive

Direct camera adjustment impossible with dahua nvr?

maybe I am missing something. When logging into the NVR directly, there is no way to directly access the camera to make Changes that I can find. On the computer, when I enter the nvr ip and log in, the settings tab has each camera individually listed, and a small blue “e” listed that I can click...

Dahua Auto focus lock off focus

Thank you very much. Will it work in my situation?(entire network 192.x.x, including Nvr. Nvr assigned private IPs to the cameras in the 10.x.x range) I dont think it will if the cams need to communicate with the always on computer. I could change the IP range the nvr uses to the 192 range...

Dahua Auto focus lock off focus

Here is what I'm thinking......."CRAP" but on a more serious note, I had the cam switch from night/ir to day at 5am. Because I am also using this for license plates, I have a high shutter speed set manually for both day and night. When the cam kicked to day at 5am, the image was extremely dark...

Dahua Auto focus lock off focus

Well, mine too. My camera has only been operating for a couple of days, but I just checked remotely and it was completely out of focus. It seemed ok when it was on night mode. See attached. I had to manually log into the camera and click the focus button. Uh oh

IVS precludes motion detect on Dahua NVR??
