AFter reading the unbrick section, I'm just going to load up an extra camera. Appreciate the help in testing here.

Amcrest IP8M-2496EB - No Signal in BI

Does it matter that a green LED light comes on at intervals inside the camera (i.e. - "I'm not quite dead yet")? Unplugged the camera from POE, plugged back in...definitely no sounds. Not a candidate for unbricking procedures?

Amcrest IP8M-2496EB - No Signal in BI

I don't hear the IR filter. Temp is 94 degrees; I've got it inside the house now for an hour during testing. I have tried several different cables and ports and I did a hard reset on the camera (it was just in garage so easy to take down). My router has assigned it an IP address but nothing...

Amcrest IP8M-2496EB - No Signal in BI

What would the troubleshooting steps be before a hard reset? I have the camera in the title in my garage linked via a 35 foot ethernet 6 cable to a patch panel, then to a ubiquiti 16 port POE switch and from there to my a dedicated windows desktop running BI (hooked via cat 6 to my udm-pro)...

Waterproof enough? Rotation of camera housing matter?

Just in time for texas thunderstorm season. I’ll spread it out then. Plan is to run several lines in schedule 40 conduit with direct burial cable to get to side of house and backyard with grounds linked to main house ground before lines enter house…but…for now…yeah it’s a risk.

Motion detection not working with Owl Box - help tweaking

So, I've installed my temp rig for my owl box. I've been tweaking the motion settings to just trigger when movement is seen on the owl box (see picture 2). I've included my current motion settings in the pictures below. The second picture shows Zone A, the only zone that I've shaded anything...

Waterproof enough? Rotation of camera housing matter?

Installed a temp camera to watch my nesting owl box. Been a while since I installed a camera. Does it matter which way the housing goes on the camera? Seems like it would be more water resistant installed like in picture 1, but I did picture 2 since i need this to be pointing up at the owl...

Owl taking flight - how to trigger motion?

Correct. Dahua and BI. Make time is set at 0.1 seconds. I made zone A just the box with no other zones but wasn’t sure if i just put “A” in the area meant for crossing zones. Basically trying to capture owl coming and leaving the box. Think i need to play with sensitivity and contrast more...

Owl taking flight - how to trigger motion?

We’ve got eastern screech owls in our backyard. Babies coming soon. How do i do a simple motion trigger for motion in and out of the owl box? I made zone A just the box. It’s been a while since i played around with settings.

Cat 5 or 6, sure. Cat 7? What's wrong with you??

Thanks for the clarification. I saw the lip / flange on one end and thought "hey, that could fit in a pipe". Probably just didn't think it all the way through. I remember trying to find something that would help with cable management through a ceiling or drywall and not finding good answers...

Same issue. So, I downloaded 5.2.6.5, is there a way to easily revert to this or is it backup configs, uninstall and reinstall 5.2.6.5?

Thought I got tricky with zone crossing...cars got trickier

Yes. I know, fairly obvious once you see it. But, it didn't make any sense seeing all the alerts on my ios app without a thorough review. Made me laugh once I did. Like - "you bastard BI...you won that round" Like the black filter that you would use so the camera doesn't record your...

Thought I got tricky with zone crossing...cars got trickier

After setting up zone crossing (simple - A-B, with A being road/sidewalk and B being my yard/driveway, I couldn't understand why I was getting so many motion detections...until I ran it through the "test run video through motion detector" and saw exactly when it triggered. Can you spot it? I'm...
