Hopefully the people that are away from their BI install learn something called remote desktop exists. You don't have to be there to fix it.

I'm running 5.7.6.8 stable version and had the evaluation message yesterday. Today I had to enter the original license number and then latest upgrade number to get back to normal. The same for 2 installs. Looks good now.

    Pause NVR notifications

I installed a NVR5208-8P-4KS2E at my sisters place. Set it up with a vpn and email notifications with a snapshot using IVS. Works great, but how can they pause the notifications using the DMSS app when they are at home? I have yet to find a way without logging into the NVR. Even better would be...

Switch from VPN to Port forwarding

I've been running a Raspberry pi with Tailscale for many months with BI and UI3, works perfect.. I just tested DMSS with it today and it also works great. No router ports forwarded or open, and all cameras ip's blocked at the router. DMSS set up as local only, all cam system services disabled...

Do you remember when you were clueless about cctv and started with BI?

https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/blue-iris-video-tutorials.22683/ These were indispensable for me. I do much better watching than reading when trying to learn something new. They are for an older version but still relevant.

    Dahua IPC-HDW5442TM-AS VBR looks terrible

Got mine a few days ago, Thanks Andy! It definitely needs the right setup, can look downright bad if not. For a while I thought I made a mistake buying it. Way more finicky than the 4231 or 2231. Running mine as BP2008 suggested. H.264H, 15 FR, VBR, Quality 5, 8192 rate, 30 I frame. Looks...

Finally got around to integrating my DSC 1832 w/Envisalink & Bosch outdoor PIR to Home Assistant

How did you interface the pirs to HA. I'm running HA on a pi and had trouble with the gpio reliably reading the inputs. Now have a wemos d1 for gpio to the pi. Works well but seems wrong to have to do it that way. Thanks John

    New Ring Alarm System 199

I wish the support guy knew that, it would have saved me a bit of time with my wife's phone. My phone was too old, the app wouldn't install. Is it possible to read signal strength of the sensors? I couldn't find anything. It would be a nice feature. John

    New Ring Alarm System 199

I installed the Ring system today for a sister in-law. Impressed with the packaging, a lot of thought went into the overall system. Problem was the android phones we have are not compatible with the Ring for the initial bluetooth setup, after that they worked great. Tech support answered the...

    Changing profiles from external source

Thanks Fenderman, that really expands on Dasstrum's "Web Commands" video. I hadn't run across that help page yet. Got the string working, just need a way to send it to BI. Hopefully I can find an Arduino solution.

    Changing profiles from external source

Is there a way to change profiles with DIO, HTTP, MQTT or whatever? Like the geofence option but hardwired. To change profiles from arming an alarm system for example. From my research it appears not, which is hard to believe. Thanks John

Here in my part of Minnesota it's 0.12 KWH, which means my new BI running 24/7 will cost about $6.00 a month. Is this average?
