2335 Firmware 5.4.23 down to 5.3.6?

I recently purchased some 2335's that have firmware 5.4.23 and cannot be upgraded. They seem to keep rebooting every so many minutes and I lose signal in BlueIris. One of the 2335's I purchased separately has version 5.3.6 and that one doesn't seem to have an issue. Is it possible to go backwards without bricking it?

Are you allowing inbound access from the internet - ie 'port forwarding', or maybe have UPnP enabled on your router and also the cameras?
If so - this could be the Hikvision hacking that's been going on for a while now on a large scale, using the Hikvision backdoor high-severity exploit.

No, the network they are on is private does not have a physical link to the internet, it is standalone.
