500g hard drive full after minutes of recordin(2 hikvision cameras+ ivms-4200 pcnvr)

hi,

does anyone have an idea why my a 450gb hard drive is filling after only a few minutes of recording from 2 cameras?
i recently partitioned my 1000gb(c drive into 2 500gb.
after using the wizard everything seems to be working fine for a while then i check the newly created hard drive and is full of video files(hundreds of them), each 256mb in size ,as though they are duplicated

the 1st few of these files have recorded video about 10mins worth...but the others are not showing any image.

after deleting these video files the problem comes back again soon.

any ideas as to why this could be happening would be well appreciated, thanks

PCNVR pre-allocates most of the free space on the drive for recording. It does this by 'filling up' the drive with these video files. They then get over-written with the actual recordings. It's nothing to worry about.
