Adding Dahua 5231R-Z to Lorex NVR

I'm trying to help out a neighbor add a Dahua 5231R-Z to his Lorex NVR. I got the camera to connect as an ONVIF device and everything seems to work for a while. But it periodically disconnects and when you look at the device config it's set back to private. It's like it's not saving the config. Same thing happens if you set it up and then unplug and re plug the camera.

Check to see if maintenance has been enabled.

I may have left that enabled. But still, I can't have the NVR forgetting the config for that camera after a reboot or power failure.

All I can tell you then is that I have been having this trouble for years. Starting with my first NVR which was a Lorex brand, and now with my newer Dahua 5216. Lorex didn't have an answer for me, and now DaHua doesn't have an answer (that I have been able to find). Sorry I can't help.
