So at the moment im under attack from criminals. 2 Attempted thefts of my car and criminal damage to the windscreen. My Nest cams just dont cut it.

Im thinking 2 4MP Dark Fighter Cameras mounted low covering the cars and front of house mounted to porch roof and garage.

Im also thinking of 2 cameras mouted to my garden fence which will monitor the cul-de-sac road i live on where we are getting possible criminals on scoping runs up our street. Id like to get their plates and faces behind the wheel. Im guessing id need 2 cameras for this on 2 different setups unless im mistaken?

When the 8 MP dark fighter cams land in the UK i might consider an upgrade.

Also does the Hikvision software come with ANPR included or do i need a certain camera or NVR?

thanks for help.

yes, ANPR is only some hi-end cams specifically marketed for that purpose.
eg: https://us.hikvision.com/sites/default/files/511314_ds-2cd4a26fwd-izhsp_data_sheet.pdf

or, you can run your own ALPR software (eg OpenAlpr) on a suitable machine,
or use their web service OpenALPR - Automatic License Plate Recognition

that's if you need Automatic license plate identification. If you just want to get video that will let you manually
read plates as needed, many cameras can do that...

check out the LPR section of this forum for details on all that, but any cam that can get
over 100 pixels per foot at the distance plates go by could be used for LPR...
