I have a few never opened axis p5415-e cameras. Do you think they are worth installing considering their age and only being 1080p? Or is getting a more modern hikvision ptz better?
Also wonder about installation height on the house. Would it be better to install them lower or higher? I could mount around 10feet or at 20 feet

thanks

Depends, what do you want the cameras to do? Have you read the Cliff Notes in the Wiki? Lots of great info that answers a lot of questions.

Hmmmmm...these are expensive cams. Even on Amazon they are $2k. Can find them on eBay for about $1200.

Looks like they are 2013 vintage. The sensor is a 1/2.8", 2MP and min illumination is Color 0.5 lux at F1.6, so not very good at low light color. Lens is 4.7mm - 84.6mm with an F1.6-2.8 aperture.

Try one out on a test rig as described in the Cliff Notes. It may be great for some specific use cases, especially with so long a zoom. It is not that it is only 1080p, a lot of current large PTZ cams are still only 1080p in prosumer lines, but they cost about $360 brand new.
