Hello what would be the best poe ip camera for a boat be for night vision on the water? I don't want to spend 2500 for a flir thermal camera. thank you it can be a fixed mount wide angle camera.

I don't think the boat factor changes anything. So I would suggest whatever the good cameras are for mounting on buildings.

I would say that you want a camera with composite, CVI, video rather than an IP camera. Composite video is real time while IP introduces a delay that may prove critical at just the wrong moment. I'm pretty sure Dahua has some low light CVI cameras so contact Andy from EmpireTech. He has a thread here under Vendors or look in the Cliff Notes, in WiKi in the blue bar at the top of the page, for his email address.

salt or sweet water?
there is a major difference..... on the sea, not too many things would last more than few months because of the salt.
sweet water is a totally different thing
